Title: Clusters mentioned in Wired Magazine LSD article Post by fubar on Jan 17th, 2006, 1:45pm LSD: The Geek's Wonder Drug? (http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,70015-0.html?tw=wn_tophead_3) "...But Doblin notes that a group of people who say LSD provides relief from their cluster headaches have organized online and are pushing for a study at Harvard to explore a possible therapy using the drug. If Harvard accepts the MDMA study, Doblin says it could pave the way for the symbolically important return of LSD research at Harvard that halted during the tenure of Timothy Leary. His goal, says Doblin, is to secure an LSD study in time for Hofmann's 101st birthday." |

Reminds me of a speech by Dr. Charles Grob, a psychiatrist at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, at the MindStates conference last year. He spent more than a year getting FDA and DEA approval to use psilocybin to treat existential anxiety (fear of death) in late-stage cancer patients. The FDA wanted him to change the protocol so he could only administer psilocybin to "healthy people". He finally got approval to use psilo with terminally ill cancer patients. BB |
