Title: A Cuppa Java for the Ladies Post by Jasmyn on Jan 8th, 2006, 2:15am "Those women who drank six or more cups of coffee a day on average had about a 75-percent reduction (sic) in the risk of breast cancer," University of Toronto professor and principal study author, Steven Narod, told broadcaster CTV. Only women who drank caffeinated coffee derived any benefit, however. "Caffeine affects the enzyme that increases the good estrogen production," she said. But, Andre Nkondjoka, an epidemiologist at the University of Montreal hospital and study co-author, noted that coffee contains other elements, notably antioxidants. Nkondjoka recalled a recent US study which showed drinking coffee produced fewer side-effects than generally expected, while reducing hypertension. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20060106/hl_afp/canadahealthfood_060106201228;_ylt=AuS5qH1MuLVlXBZTkThnjmf737YB;_ylu=X3oDMTA2ZGZwam4yBHNlYwNmYw-- |

I drink at least 2 pots a day sometimes more. This is great news for me, as my Grandmother had a breast removed from cancer. |

Title: Re: A Cuppa Java for the Ladies Post by sandie99 on Jan 8th, 2006, 4:25pm Okay, I've seen myself after I've had a caffeine tablet. Nobody wants to see me after few cups of coffee... I'd be hyper, I'm sure of that. But that should be delightful news to all my coffee-addicted pals. Cheers! Sanna :) |
