Title: New guy from Kansas Post by TKDFORCHRIST on May 29th, 2005, 7:57pm Well, to start I cried the day I found this site. I wish I had stumbled on it years ago. I will turn 36 this summer and have dealt with this beast since I was 18, I cannot believe that have done this for half my life. Your stories sound as if I was writing them myself. I found O2 in 2003 and that seems to help the lesser CH. Today I start week 6. My cycles started out yearly and then about 1997 they started jumping to 2 years, PRAISE THE LORD. The problem I face right now is I cannot remember a cycle lasting this long, mainly more than 4 weeks. I feel for each of you that I have read about who has to deal with this for so long, either longer episodes or chronic. Anyway I have spent more time reading this website over the past couple of weeks than it seems I have done anything else. God Bless You All, Troy |

Title: Re: New guy from Kansas Post by TKDFORCHRIST on May 30th, 2005, 6:19pm Kim, That is OK. I will stay a Cats fan though Got a question, maybe the wrong place I do not know. I use O2 and Axert. My Dr. wouldn't let me try Verapamil. I am still kind of mad about that one. Something to do with my being tall skinny and having a mitral valve reflux. Any way, I was originally given Axert because it had a longer ½ life than imitrex. I also couldn’t afford the shots anymore. I found that the Axert only has a ½ life about 1 hour longer than the trex did, according to the pharmacy. Now my question, I have been reading a lot about Kudzu and how much help it was. Problem is the posts were back in February. Frankly I am worn out from reading posts today. I can’t seem to find any answer to mixing triptans and Kudzu. Any thoughts on this? I want to try the Kudzu but I am afraid to give up what I know helps. Troy, Cats fan |

Troy try posting this question on the medications board or on the Kudzu thread itself. My understanding is that you should not mix triptans and kudzu. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Sean......................... |

Title: Re: New guy from Kansas Post by TKDFORCHRIST on Jun 5th, 2005, 10:05am Hey all, I have to say that after 6 long weeks, and about $1500.00 of meds and O2, I feel this cycle lifting. I finally slept last night without interruption. I want all to know that this website has touched me deeply. I have read a lot about a lot of you and although I do not wish to start this cycle over I wish I had stumbled on this site sooner. I will continue to check the board and I pray for pain free days for all. God Bless, Troy Cats Rule |
