Welcome Linda. Have a look at all these threads. Some of the are long, but worth reading all the way through. Pay special attention to possible drug interactions. Many of us have found kudzu very effective for keeping the beast at bay. Good luck and pain free wishes to you, nani

Ditto what Nani said. Kudzu is doing what narcotics and the triptans could not for "me". Best wishes, Joe

 Hello Linda

Have you tried 02 and it didn't work?  Or, do you have concerns about using oxygen as abortive?

Those of us it works for swear by it, not only for it's efficacy, but also relatively inexpensive and free of side effects.  It's my only abortive (can't take triptans).

  Keep in touch,

   Be Safe,   PFDANs

I ditto the use of oxygen.  I experienced my first bout 3 years ago as a newbie.  Oxygen was one of the ideas my MD wanted to try since nothing else helped.  His medical group disallowed the prescription.  My pain lasted approx 10 days.  I kept vigilant watch month after month for the pain to return.  After 3 years it came back!  My doc prescribed oxygen and we agreed that if it was turned down to self pay; we had to know if it worked for me.  The Rx went through and the Ox2 worked just great!  My bout lasted approx 10 days, 1-3 times each night.  I have the Ox2 unit stored in the garage with the piece of mind that someday I may need it again; though I hope that day never comes.

Hi Linda,

Sorry you have to be here. Take a look at the OUCH (UK) site. There's lots of info about the treatments to prevent the headaches and to abort them on here.  You could phone the help line-my husband joined 3 months ago and hasn't looked back since. He is now pain free for the first time in 24 years of cycles.

Good Luck

Don't you just love it when someone signs on here, asks a poorly worded question in cyber shorthand and then never comes back, not even to say thanks?

WWW.MELDRUM.DEMON.CO.UK/migraine. At bottom of home page, look for FAQ on clusters: four sections of extensive material; strong on treatment options.

I've mailed rescue packages out that have never been acknowledged.

And still many of us don't think that there are aliens on earth. Clue: They are concerned about breathing oxygen. And they don't come back to acknowledge because they have already left the planet ;;D

I had pure oxygen on my last dental visit and it made me feel great and I missed a hit while I was in the chair.
I am a firm believer in o2. ;)
