Title: Re: misery loves company Post by Langa on Mar 21st, 2005, 9:59pm Hi Lanna and Welcome... For starters, everyone here understands. Tell us more about yourself. Have you been diagnosed as a cluster sufferer? If so, what meds are you currently on? I'm sorry that you're here, but glad you found this awesome family. ;) Langa |

Title: Re: misery loves company Post by lanna on Mar 21st, 2005, 10:13pm hi I was diagnosed when I was 20 I'm 49 now. Ive been tlod recently by a doctor that they probably arn't clusters because I'm a woman. I used to go about 6 years between episode but, I'm in one now and I was in one 2 years ago. |

Title: Re: misery loves company Post by BobG on Mar 21st, 2005, 10:47pm "Probably" aren't clusters? Did you ask him what they "probably" are? To clear up any doubts in your own mind there is a 'cluster quiz' button on the left side of your screen. The idea that women don't have clusters was proved false many years ago. Your doctor needs a refresher course. Women DO have clusters. After you get used to this board you will see that there are as many women as men here. And we have have many women that are supporters of clusterheads. Damned fine ladies, all of them. |

Title: Re: misery loves company Post by Charlie_-_Florida on Mar 22nd, 2005, 3:08am Hi, guys. Just picked some replies about Kudzu. What can you tell me about this.... Any interaction (negative), that you know about it ? I am on Prednesone and Imitrex right now. Also, I see this Kudzu comes in different forms.....? ? ? Anything you can reply with, will be much appreciated. |

Title: Re: misery loves company Post by jokrs2 on Mar 22nd, 2005, 12:53pm Hi Charlie I would contact Floridian as wisdom abounds. I stopped taking Imitrex 24 hours before starting Kudzu therapy. I can certainly recommend Planetary Formulas Kudzu Recovery. I purchase mine online at vitacost.com or iherb.com. I noticed a difference within the first 24 hours on kudzu ;;D. Good luck! Joe |

Title: Re: misery loves company Post by lanna on Mar 23rd, 2005, 6:57am thank you all for replying, i know they are clusters i did have one doctoer take them seriously about 15 years ago, he was the one who told me about clusres, i didn't know what the heck they were but i thought i was dying, i have had only five episodes in the past 15 years, so i guess im lucky. i am in one right now which lead me to this website, it's ncouraging to know there are people who understand. i am only taking imetrex and alleve. some nights i get 2 or three some nights like last night i only got one about an hour after i fell asleep i took an imetrex and didn't have one till 6 am, mine usually last about three weeks. i would like to meet somone in the mass area if your out ther to compare and talk. I havent seen a nuero yet should i? |

Title: Re: misery loves company Post by Kris_in_SJ on Mar 23rd, 2005, 8:42pm Hi, and welcome, Don knows the docs in your area, so follow his advice if possible. I live in Michigan, so can't help with the doc question. I am, however, a woman with episodic clusters (even though women don't get clusters!) Mine didn't start until I was 42 and my cycles are about 3-5 yrs. apart, lasting about 10-12 weeks each time. You mentioned Imitrex. Pills, NS, or injects? Are you on any preventatives like Verapamil? Prednisone can also knock out a cycle. Please feel free to PM or email me at any time for questions or support. In the meantime, read as much as you can. If your email is listed, check it tomorrow. I'll send you a couple of articles that you should read, print out and take with you to the next doctor's appointment. If your email isn't listed and you'd like the articles, PM me with your address and I'll send them. Many Hugs, Kris |
