Title: New Member -- Old at the suffering ... Post by TonyG1 on Jan 31st, 2005, 8:43pm Hi just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Tony and I've been fellow CH sufferer for about 18 years. Finally during this last cycle (not sure it is done yet??> to see a doc ... I've held out a long, long time. Officially diagnosed with CH today; however, I've done my homework over the years and knew that would be the verdict ... <sigh... no surprise > ::) Got the trex and verapamil today and I'm hoping for the best. I've read a number of the posts here and it is nice to read posts from folks who can actually understand !!!!! Unfortunate reason we all must be here ... but we're here together. I look forward to future posts and interaction with the groups! TonyG |

You're right, they're a nice bunch around here and we all know the problems so you at least don't have to spend a ton of time trying to explain what's going on. There will be lots along in the next little while to offer you support and encouragment. Read, read, and read some more. There is a ton of information in the links to the left of the board. Best to you Carol |

Remember that the verap may take a few days to a week or so to start working for you. Have you tried Oxygen? ..that's also very helpful too. I like it because it's not a med. There's info about it under"oxygen info" over with the links to your left. Be well and PF, lionsound |

Too bad that this horrible thing has to unite us... but as you have noticed, it can be lots of fun to talk with people who get it. :) it's the silverlining. I wish you lots of PFdays, Sandie |

Title: Re: New Member -- Old at the suffering ... Post by TonyG1 on Feb 1st, 2005, 6:26pm Thanks for the replies and warm welcomes! We all must make the best of a bad condition. Prior to my visit to the doc - I dealt with Excedrine Migrane and lots of caffeine to chase the beast. After reading a number of the posts here, I'm thankful the beast only visits at night - I can only recall one instance of a daytime attack. Being unfamiliar with the Rxs -- I did check with the Pharmacist about OTC meds in conjuction with the Rxs and the Excedrine is good to go, even with the Imitrex ! No grapefruit products or Sudafed ! I got the imitrex tabs which seem toooooo slow as I can attest to this a.m. --- It worked but only after more time had passed that I cared to endure. Depending on the Verap (starting it tonight) - next visit to the doc may require a RX for the injectable Imitrex. I did have a couple of PFDs but only after sleeping with the help of Clonazipam (good sleep but that stuff is addictive -- YUCK!! :o) and sleeping in a recliner vs. lying flat in my bed. Again, thanks for the warm welcome Best regards to all and may we all wake tommorow and every day thereafter PF !! Tony |
