Title: Newbie in Las Vegas
Post by BigRick on Jan 26th, 2005, 3:55pm
Newbie to the board that is not these terrible headaches.Im 33 now and have dealt with clusters since I was 18.Ive been in remission for 3 years until 2 weeks ago and now they are back full force.I spent last night pacing my garage and vomiting in the trash can.Im sure you guys know what I mean.
My girlfriend seems to think they are stress related,I wish it were that simple.I have a doctors appointment today and will get back on the Zomig,Keppra and Stadol NS to help control them. One thing I have learned over the years is its extremely hard to find a Dr. who seems to care.I been to a dozen different Dr.'s and only one who was fairly effective in his treatment.
Oh well,Ill rough it out like I have before.Of course thats alot easier to say when Im not having a headache right now.

I am so sorry that you have to battle against CH again... :(
But I am glad that you found CH.com. Welcome aboard!

By the way, when I was episodic (I'm chronic now) noticed that stress increases the possibility to get CH, but it didn't mean by 100% that I had one. Now they are daily companion, stress or not.

And I have been to bunch of docs, too. ;) I know exactly what you mean...

I hope that you'll find the meds which work. 02 should be good.

Best wishes & PFdays,
Sandie

Hi BigRick - Welcome to the board.  My experience (altho everyone is different) has been that stress has not been a factor or a trigger.  I have never begun a cycle during any of the most stressful periods of my life.  In fact, the opposite seems to be true.  I have often been visited by the "beast" when I was doing something relaxing like spending a month in Negril Jamaica. (many moons ago - it has really changed!)  But I suppose for some it may be stress related.  Good luck and try 02!!  dagger

Ive tried the o2,it was one of the first things prescibed to me.I had a big tank in my living room and several smaller bottles(and cart)to take in my car.It worked sometimes but the vast majority of the time it just delayed them.As soon as I took off the mask the headache would startup again.Ive taken lithium,o2,imitrex,migranol,lidocane,indocin,depakote,stadol ns,maxallt, zomig, percocet, lorcet and keppra. Some ive probably forgot.
Anyways my Dr gave me Keppra,Zomig(very effective for me,80%)Stadol NS and Lorcet today.Last time I was on Keppra it was very effective and after 8 weeks on it I went into my 3 year remission.Hopefully that will happen again(fingers crossed).
