Ok here go's lol I have tried imitrix,propranolol,bupropion,protonix,isometh/apap, crestor,fluoxetine,verapamil, and some that i dont have any more but have tried and i take flonase and im on oxygen at night . But when i do get my really bad one's I have to go get a shot nothing over the counter or what the doc has given me works any more and now the shots arnt doing as much i have had morphine shots and it did nothing but make me sleep witch i guess whas good because i havent sleep in like three days but when i woke up my head was still pounding so i went back and they gave me somthing else and it didnt work so the next day i went back again and got a Tordol and benedryl shot and that is the only thing that has been helping but now it is just nocking it down anymore and not taking it all away.I know some of them pills i have said up there are for difrent things but my doc said to try them like the blood pruser and stuff but i guess it is his way of ruling out stuff pluse yesterday i had to go back in for yet a nothere one and he gave me the shots and this time gave me some muscle relaxers thing that may help so i guess im going to try them now just dont know what to do .I have had a cat scan and they didnt see nothing there but i go in to a neurologist this next month for the first time I have had to waite for 6 months to get in there and it is finally here so i hope they can help and I guess there going to do an MRI im not sure but i hope they can find somthing and then we can go from there.SKI :)

imitrex and verapamil seem to work for many of us - imitrex is quick acting, but verapamil takes time to kick in, and many people have to adjust the levels upwards before it prevents. Oxygen is also good for aborting a headache, but it has to be high flow rate/non rebreather mask - a tube in the nose is generally not effective.

Opiates and other painkillers are something most people avoid - they don't work that well and have side effects/are habit forming. A few people report that SSRIs like fluoxetine help in conjuction with other meds, but that is not widely recognized as a treatment.

Do you have a diagnosis of CH, or is it 'severe headaches' ?

I just wanted to say thanks for all that are talking to me and asking questions and yes i have been diagnosed with cluster headaches..... I have been geting them for over two years it seams as if i always have a headache but then it gets really bad and i feel like im losssssssing it.
