Hello Everyone,
I was diagnosed as an episodic cluster sufferer when I was 19 yrs old (first cycle 6 weeks at least 1-2 a day). I went undiagnosed the first year. The second year following when the beast returned, I was referred to a Neuro. She helped and understood what I was going through and prescribed Inderal and prednisone. Another two years went by and the beast returned again. Same prescrip, about six weeks. Four years went by and it returned again (six weeks) same presrip. Then my last bout with the beast was 1998. Six years and I just got them again (started Dec 17). Now I am on Prednisone and Verapamil plus Nasl Imitex. Can't wait till this is over. This is the first time I have been able to do some research on these misreable headaches. It was always reading para from the library which was always outdated. Now being able to utilize the computer to search the web, it is a bit more knowledgeable.
I can't believe that dr's don't really know a cure for these headaches. No one in my family has a history and they came out of no where. I am now 40 yrs old and they seem to be more intense now as I got older. The last bout in 98 lasted about 8 weeks.
Well that's enough of explaining myself, I wanted to wish you all good luck and Health and happiness.
I'm glad I found a place to read everyones opinions and to know that I am not the only one with these headaches. To all who are suffering, episodic and chronic (my heart goes out to you!) I will make sure I keep all of you in my daily prayers.

no, you are not the only one....we understand. Be sure to read read read ..tons of good information here including the links on the left.

The people here are pretty good too. :)

Welcome Pete,

If you haven't tried, read the 02 info. For those of us it works for . . . . wonderful . . . . especially if used at onset of ha . . . can kill within minutes, and save your Imitrex for the ones the 02 won't abort.
