Title: Thanks..still waiting Post by bearbadger on Jan 12th, 2005, 3:14pm thanks for all the words of encouragement. I'm still waiting to get into my doctor - a long and frustrating story. I have an appt next week though. Fortunatley I haven't had another headache since sun and I keep hoping the cycle is over. I'm being very careful what I eat right now as that seems to be triggering them. I am still having the constant shadow but that just seems to be something I've learned to live with. I'll be taking lots of info with me from this board when I go. I'm curious if there is anyone else who works in Educ or childcare and has to deal with issue of a replacement when you miss work. It's so hard in my field to find coverage and even though I'm often in pain or just exhausted I hate to call in because it leaves the rest of the staff short and out of ratio, etc. Anyone else have to deal with this? Title: Re: Thanks..still waiting Post by dagger on Jan 12th, 2005, 7:05pm Sorry about your dilemna. I am a teacher and am "fortunate" that my ch's hit me mostly at night. For those occasional day-time attacks I keep an imitrex dose on me and can generally recover quickly enough to continue to work. I can't leave them alone to go inhale oxygen because they are in grades k-3 and need constant supervision. Do you have any subs available that you could utilize? I know you hate to overload the others. The 3-5 teacher in the other classroom (two-room school) is aware of my condition and I could herd them all over there but I hate to put that on her. Good luck to you. dagger |

Title: Re: Thanks..still waiting Post by nani on Jan 12th, 2005, 7:13pm LOL...I am the substitute...it's tough, on occasion I have had to get a sub to cover for the sub. Most days the hits aren't bad enough to do more than and icepack and a few moments of distracting activities...sometimes I carry the O2 in the car. Good luck at the drs...pain free wishes nani |
