Hello all...I'm new to the board, but not new to the painful freaking headaches (my symptoms fit nearly every description to CH). I'm the type that doesn't like to visit the doctor until it's absolutely necessary---well, if what I'm dealing with doesn't count as 'absolutely necessary' then I'm an idiot. Anyway...despite it all I still haven't seen a doc yet. I had my worst one ever last week and several more since. I'm going to have to make the call. I was just curious....how many people have seen a doctor and do you have any suggestions?

Yes, all here have seen a doctor. If you have ch, it hurts so bad, you think you have a fricking brain tumor and are going to die.

G,day knock,probably all have seen enough of docs. Arm yourself with pen/paper/printer,load up with info and away to 7,10,15 docs till u find one with a bit of a clue of what he/she is talking about. Just by reading small sections here you,ll know when u get the right one. Find one soon cause it,sno good prolonging unnecessary torture if some relief is close handy. Good luck Cray

Welcome knockknock...(who's there?) CH is treatable...it would be, in my opinion, foolish NOT to see a doctor. It isn't curable and it may take awhile to find the right med combo...but why suffer if you don't have to?

Read as much info as you can here, print what you can and get to a Neurologist.

I'm a great advocate for the oxygen treatment also. There's a link to the left on it.

OK, it's done. Finally made an appointment....got tired of thinking maybe the CH's will just stop. I had a good nights sleep last night, which was nice but that doesn't bode well for tonight. I expect arrival of CH around 9 pm--I can already tell there's something rattling around in there. Place your bets...pick your square, guess the hour and you're the winner...yeehaw! Unlike many of you, I usually have my CH's before I go to bed, although I have been woken up by them many times at 3 am--of course any time to have a CH sucks. I hadn't had a CH in almost 3 years until a couple of weeks ago. Mysteriously they disappeared about the time of my divorce, but damnit they found me again! I really thought I had found the cure, but no such luck.

You might want to consider reading maybe 10% of this board before asking that question.

Probably reading even less would answer that question.
