Title: Oops, forgot to say hello Post by Bill-G on Dec 14th, 2004, 12:56pm Hi Folks, Been here for a month and started posting a few notes. I figured it would be rude not to introduce myself :-[ My name is Bill. and I'm in my early GHOF years ( Grey Haired Old Fart) at 57. I work as an independant sales rep for commercial greenhouse growers and nurserys. Kind of a hobby run amuk. Before that I spent 15 years at IBM 11 in the field and 4 in Marketing...I hated the office politics involved and finally left in the early 90s when a buyout was offered. I spend alot of time in the car but love getting paid for something I would do for free :P I'm going through my first experience with clusters. Never dreamed anything could be that painful and not do serious phyical damage. I seem to be having some success with Verapamil and Indocin as an abortive. O2 is also helpful. I pray it does the job Or its time to find something else to do. I just started my 3rd month with the demon and had put my own scale for tacking together when I found this site. Great info and people :) Funny how demon seems to come to mind so commonly. I thought it was just my love of sci-fi/fantacy books that the demon seemed a natural description. I called my upper level DC for in the Demons Clutches. almost all the clusters were thrashers. I normally got 3-5/day before Verapamil and have experienced a few pf days after 2 weeks on a 240mg dose. It also seems to slow the attack a bit Anyway..thanks for being here . Its nice to know you are not alone and to have a place to go where people understand what clusterheads go through. |

That is pretty amazing when you think about it. It's ussually physical damage that precipitates pain. Except with us. Pain Pain Pain no matter what and no physical after effects. (except bruises on my knuckles) |

Title: Re: Oops, forgot to say hello Post by RichardN on Dec 14th, 2004, 9:51pm Another GHOF here (I'll be 58 in March), and mine started Jan, 01', didn't find this site til Feb, 02 after months of pain and mis-diagnosis, non-working meds and FEAR. The FEAR of not knowing (tumor, aneurism, sinuses, eyes, teeth, what the F#*%?), and the FEAR of the next one. When my wife found this site, I was having 6-8 per day, 3-5 per night, KIPs 5-9. Verapamil and 02 did it for me (reduced frequency and intensity) and I finally had a "name for the pain" and the information to be pro-active in my own treatment. Welcome to the looney bin . . . and a great family. PFDANs Richard |

Title: Re: Oops, forgot to say hello Post by Bill-G on Dec 15th, 2004, 12:35am Wow! Thanks for the welcome and kind words. I never fully understood the importance of support groups. Now I know...they are the only people who can truely understand what clusterheads, or for that matter, anyone with the same problem, is going through. Thanks for being there :) Take care Bill |

Title: Re: Oops, forgot to say hello Post by Langa on Dec 15th, 2004, 9:25am Welcome Bill! Been a CH sufferer for 26 years and just found this place...until then I thought I was alone. Ever saw that episode of the Twilight Zone where only two people exist in the world? That's what it felt like for me - except it was only me...I thank God for DJ and this place every day. Langa |

Title: Re: Oops, forgot to say hello Post by maureen on Jan 9th, 2005, 10:34pm Boy that was my thoughts exactly found this site 3 days ago and I can't stay away. I have had chs for 19 yrs and have learned more about them in the past 3 yrs then I could ever have imagined. I guess knowing your not alone does empower a person somewhat, or that is at least in a way how I feel. thanks to all of you |
