Title: Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Canada Post by high_commander on Nov 30th, 2004, 3:40am How's that for an adress ? Not the worst out there by far, yet a mouthful all the same. My name is Danielle. A CH from the north. I am a photographer, and mom of two. My husband has a real job so we can own our own acreage outside the city. I found this site a while ago, but when your out of cycle you try to forget about the pain. They're back, but building up slowly, so the preventative drugs will be put to use soon. I was up late and reading the posts from everyone, laughing till I hurt. [smiley=laugh.gif] Thought i'd better introduce myself and quit scavenging from the site without giving back. Thanks for being here. Danielle |

Glad you found us, but sorry you had to. BTW- being a mom of 2 is the real-est job you can have! ;) I hope you get on some prevents and find some relief! :) |

Title: Re: Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Canada Post by high_commander on Dec 3rd, 2004, 1:00pm Well, now I wish I had some real interesting reason for the name. I didn't pick it myself, but was given to me by the kids I work with. I do photography most of the year, but in the summers I run the kitchen at a kids summer camp, and everyone has a nickname.... So, they suggest the typical names like "cookie" and "muffin", and other than the shape of a muffin being similar to my own shape... they didn't sound right. Then, some young man, thinking he was being funny shouted out "High Commander"(like the character on the show Third Rock From the Sun) I thought it was a great title, said yes, and have been the High Commander at camp for 6 years now. One of the weird side effects is that kids from camp will see me in town and call me by my camp name. It's quite funny to watch people's reactions when people are calling you High Commander at the mall or Wal-Mart. [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=crackup.gif] |

Thanks, hopefully my wall-banging days are behind me now(thank you very much clusterbusters). :D I suppose I should change it to something a little more demure, but it reminds me of where I've been. That's a cute story of how you got your handle. I like high_commander. Having never met, it's hard to tell how well it fits. ;;D PFNAD...........alley :) |
