Title: Adrenaline? Post by ClusterGuy on Nov 25th, 2004, 9:36am Hey all, I am new to the board again after 3 years of no headaches and now they are back. Anyway, about 3 1/2 years ago, I had one of my monster clusters that last about 3 hours. For those of you who have never had one of those, I envy you. Imagine your cluster, how painful it is and to have it last for 3 hours instead of an hour. I never wanted to die so bad in my entire life. Ok, so I am on the floor, banging my head, my wife is rubbing my back and crying along with me. My pager is going off every 2 minutes for me to call work and my head feels like someone is trying to dig my eyeball out with a fork. I couldn't take the pain anymore and I literally flipped out. I started cussing like I have never cussed before, grabbed a chair from the dining room and threw it through my sliding glass door. Well that just pissed me off even more and so I started laying into the wall. I hit the wall the first time and my hand went through, I hit it a second time and my hand went through, and the third time it bounced off the stud. I pulled my hand back and realized that I had just broken it. It was all deformed and starting to swell. Well my point is, my headache was gone. Not because I broke my hand, because at the time, I could still feel no pain in my hand. What I want to know is, do you think that maybe the adrenaline rush I had, maybe, got rid of my headache? |

Title: Re: Adrenaline? Post by Jonny on Nov 25th, 2004, 10:29am Once pulled into my driveway with a HA climbing fast, all I wanted to do was get in the house and abort the fucker. Well, seeing a guy carrying my shit out of my house changed that and the HA, as soon as I caught him and started beating his ass the HA was gone. Adrenaline?....Yep, works for me ;;D ........................................jonny |

Title: Re: Adrenaline? Post by ClusterGuy on Nov 25th, 2004, 10:54am Yeah totally! I have never been able find anything that worked as quickly as an adrenaline rush. In fact, so many people use imitrex injections and they do nothing for me, but the adrenaline, that shit kicks ass. |

Title: Re: Adrenaline? Post by Jonny on Nov 25th, 2004, 11:21am Taking the HA out on a scumbag was the first time it aborted with no meds. Trex works for me but causes rebounds, am now using Zomig NS......damn things work just as fast and last a lot longer.....with no rebounds 02 works great if I get on it at first twitch. |

Title: Re: Adrenaline? Post by Testy1 on Nov 26th, 2004, 5:05am Yep. It will do it. I had several bad ones during the first gulf war that aborted when Saddam fired some scuds my way. They weren't really all that close but it was enough to shake me up. Jack |

Title: Re: Adrenaline? Post by Rod_v._Devil on Nov 30th, 2004, 4:01pm I've been there up to the 5th hour then bring in the narc and kill the nerve. I've learned that after 2 hrs the chem process that causes the pain is over but the nerve is shot , sore and inflamed. Trex and I do not mix so vicodin takes 30 - 40 min the nerve settles down and whats left is trace pressure throughout the face and head. ;;D |
