Title: Greetings from Southeast Texas
Post by mpd on Oct 28th, 2004, 12:22pm
Hello Fellow Mellow Members!

I'm a 42 year-old man living in Southeast Texas.  I've suffered from migraine and cluster migraine headaches my entire life.  Part of this is due to a complicating medical condition (I have Multiple Personality Disorder) resulting from severe childhood abuse.  Oh well.  Nothing to be done for that!

I have tension headaches that move up to migraine class almost every day.  Last night was another night when I couldn't get to sleep because my head was pounding.  This happens 2 or 3 times a week and leaves me thinking I could give Sleepy a run for his money as my energy level is drained away.

Exercise has been a big help, but the Imitrex and Sumatriptan have only provided marginal help and I'm a recovering addict, so I can't take opiates under any circumstances.  I use a combination of pharmaceuticals and marijuana to try and knock down the headaches to a manageable level, but I'm a business consultant so I can't aggressively treat the symptoms during the day and still work effectively.

I would be very appreciative to hear about anyone's (and everyone's) experience with hallucinagenics as a treatment option.  I have had a lot of experience with them, but that was 20 years ago in my youth and were taken purely for recreational purposes because I thought they were a great entertainment value for the dollar.

I grow my own meds because I'm concerned about what I take and I don't like the criminal liability prospects that come with buying meds from a local dealer of fine cannabis products - especially since my connection got busted a year ago, leaving me to deal with this issue on a more direct basis as THC gives me relief from symptoms 30% to 50% of the time and helps with the sleeping problems (most of the time).  If you go to www.overgrow.com, www.compassioncorner.org, or www.cannabisworld.org you'll find I'm a big proponent of medical marijuana and help as I can.

I have 6 kids and 8 grandkids in addition to my eternity partner/wife of 20 years.  She's quite a bit older than me, but we have a tremendously good time together.  She is tolerant of my treatment regimen so far and believes my MPD to be a rare and special gift.

Right now we have our youngest son at home as he continues his college education and our youngest grand daughter, as her mother is with the Marines in Fallujah fighting so we don't have to.

That's me.  I'll take some time reading up on the boards before I dive in too deeply.

Peace

Huh? Your profile says female.

I could go on picking this message apart but I won't.
It sound like a druggie that wants our permission to continue his/her screwed up lifestyle.

edited to add, cause I forgot the most important question.....

I have Multiple Personality Disorder

Would one of your personalities happen to be a very generous multi-millionaire. If yes, please have him/her contact me. I have my eye(s) on a new Lexus but am short about $63,000.
