Title: They're Baaaack!!
Post by sunshine_girl on Oct 11th, 2004, 8:18pm
Hello, Clusterheads
I am a 31 year old female. I am married to a great man and I have one son, Forest,10, and one step son, Greg Jr, 18.
I HAVE CLUSTERS
Sufferer since 1987. I was 14.  My cycles are every two years for 3-6 months of hell.  My lifeline?? Imitrex injections!! Love em. I kinda feel like a junkie when I start getting low.......Gotta have my shots!!

I have a question......My clusters affect the right side of my head and my eye and nostril have all the symptoms associated with clusters. I had an especially painful HA last night and I waited to use the Imitrex because it was my last shot! (I was trippin, but thankfully I got more today! WHEW!!)
Anyway, My eye has remained swollen and it is a good 24 hours later.
It was really bad this morning, as I was barely able to open it.  It kinda looks like I got hit or something, but with no bruising.....Pretty annoying, really. I tried Visine, but it didn't help.
Any ideas??
Thank you.......
Lydia

Eye symptoms for me go away with the pain.  Don't know, any type of irritation from rubbing it?  Allergies?

Eye can remain sore, but ok afterward for seeing things though.

don't know

Welcome Lydia   :)

Hi Sunshine,
I'll have a red burnig eye for quite awhile after a bad hit but little swelling. The swelling may be from the things you did while you were in pain. Were you pressing on the eye with your palm or fingers? Just a guess.
Have you tried Oxygen? This is a great way for alot of people to deal with the pain and will help the meds stretch. Who knows if the 02 works maybe the trex can be your backup.

Welcome and sorry you're here.  :(Try some ice on the swelling, be careful- eye tissue is sensitive. It's not altogether unusual for swelling, tearing and drooping to last a little longer than the pain.  :-/   [smiley=hug.gif]

What I do with the eye is I have a half dozen large spoons in the freezer . It feels so good to roll gently on the eyelid. Run water over them first ,dont want them to stick. Sorry for the pain.  8)
