Title: Migraines, or Clusters. Or both?
Post by SinisterMind on Oct 5th, 2004, 3:16pm
ok i'm probably not the most common people to post on these forums,,,, (some punk ass teen who's worried about essays and due dates)

Anyways, i've been getting migraines since i was young, used to have them 2,3 times a month and I gotta say it was hell,

I haven't had one for 2 years, and i've been enjoying every day of it =p

But yesterday DISASTER a damn migraine hit me right after i woke up... So i couldn't get back to sleep, which has been my cure for migraines, when the aura comes I drop what i'm doing, drink some warm milk and sleep until it goes away. This time i couldn't sleep, i just sad in bed, in agony, silently.

ok there's my intro =p

But what i was really wondering, is when do cluster headaches typically start in people... Because i've been talking to my uncle who is a CH sufferer and he was telling me all about the perks and joys of having them.  He is on my mothers side of the family, the side where I've been handed down migraines...

So right now i'm terrified that i'm going to get cluster headaches, i'm just curious as to when i can expect them.

If you don't have them now, don't worry about "expecting them".
If you get clusters you will know it. Because your going to think that you are having a stroke or an anyeurysm or something along those lines.
Even with the slightly increased odds with your family history of getting them, statistically speaking you are more likely not to ever have them.

If your grammer and punctuation skills are the same in your essays as they are in this post I'd worry more about your grades than clusters! :P [smiley=laugh.gif] :)

hey..... actually i'm pretty damn good at essays,
no need for the personal attacks =p

But as you may know, i'm young and i've been in the internet age of the "msn's and the aim's" and as such, i've become accustomed to its way of typing,

which lemme tell you is very liberal in the use of periods and commas, =p

But about the clusters, I"M HAPPY u told me that =p

'cause migraines are bad enough... But i think I have a slight idea what you guys are going through,

it reminds me of.... Johnny Mnemonic =p

well hi - "punk ass teen"  ;)

So how long did this headache last for you?  Did you have the regular aura that comes from migraines, or was it absent?  Did light bother you?  Didja feel like you needed to hurl?

You are about the right age for common onset of cluster.  Was the pain centered in your eye?

Check out the cluster quiz on the left here and read the cluster traits button.  Might help you to better understand what's happening to you.

Also, we have a Canadian cluster site now too - lotsa sufferers in your area.  Please feel free to visit us over there and tell your uncle he's welcome, too, ok?

Hope you find your answers.  Head pain of any kind is no fun at all.  (I'm a migrainer, hubby is a clusterhead.  We have big fun.   ::))

well I know for a fact that I get migraines, I get the aura which is when i usually high tail my "punk ass" to bed, and then the pain sets in, nausea and i usually toss my cookies a few hours into it, then i get 5 mins of relief and then it starts all over again,

but they aren't clusters, i'm just worried i'm going to get them someday... My uncle gets them and we have much in common.. EEEK

Don't worry about it. Worrying won't change a thing.
