Title: newbie, so glad to have found you Post by becky8 on Sep 24th, 2004, 3:02pm Sorry, Everyone I started posting before introducing myself. I am Becky and next week I finally see a Neruo Dr. after many other Dr.'s and years of pain. Even though I haven't seen him yet I know from this site I have CH or CPH headaches. No question about it, my fear is my Dr. won't know these kinds of headahes since I live in small town and not alot of Neruo Dr.'s around. Please help me arm my self with info for when I go and can you tell me what to expect at the exam? I am chronic so I am desperate to finally see someone who can really help me. I think I am probably more CPH because they start anytime and anywhere and are on and off all day and night. So no pain medicine I have access to can help because they take to long before they work. |

To me that sounds more like CPH than CH. Indomethacin is effective in the fight against CPH. Maybe your doctor will prescribe it and if the attacks stop then you’ll know it is CPH. There is a list of recommended doctors at the OUCH web site. Possibly one of them is close to you. Click this…….. http://www.clusterheadaches.org/doctors.htm |

I was found to have cluster headaches not a tumor what a relief , I asked him direct questions to which I got direct answers. I.E. like whar side of the head I got them on how long and how long they lasted . I do so hope that this helps I am new here and am so gladf I am not alone . Jim |

Title: Re: newbie, so glad to have found you Post by thebbz on Sep 26th, 2004, 7:22pm Hello, Sorry for the pain. I am episodic CH and when a cycle starts it is relentless. Day night no matter. No chance for pain meds working on these things. Try to find an abortive, O2, Imitrex ,there are many migraine hand me downs that may or may not work, study all you can as the best weapon against the demon is knowledge and stubborn courage. BB |
