Title: GAMom Update and WARNING Post by GAMom on Aug 11th, 2004, 7:14pm Thanks to the ones that sent me messages recently. Sorry I haven't been back on to reply. I don't know if you remember but I was the one asking for help for my pain before my next doctor appointment. Well, I ended up seeing a neurologist and had an MRI and, subsequently, an MRA. Turns out I have an aneurysm. I'm meeting with a neurosurgeon on Tuesday, 8/17 to discuss options. This message is to URGE each of you to have an MRI or at least discuss it with your doctor. My pushing my doctor for this probably saved my life. Don't assume that your headache is just a headache - whether it be migraines, cluster or cph. Get the scan and rule out the worst, then go from there. Just an update. Thanks for all your help. Good luck to you all. Tonya |

Title: Re: GAMom Update and WARNING Post by Kris_in_SJ on Aug 12th, 2004, 8:15pm Thanks for letting us know. It's a good reminder that clusters can sometimes only be diagnosed by ruling other things out. Best of luck with any surgery - let us know how it goes. Many Hugs and Good Wishes, Kris |

Title: Re: GAMom Update and WARNING Post by Major on Aug 12th, 2004, 9:55pm Hi Tonya, Sorry to hear your story - I hope your discussions on options go well next week. Can you give me a bit of background info on your headaches? My husband is scheduled for an MRI/angio in a couple of weeks. When this whole CH episode started for us back in June, his Dr thought he might have a ruptured aneurysm because the onset of his attact was more indicative of an aneurysm, while the subsequent symptoms were indicative of CH. He had a CATscan and a spinal tap (fun fun), and both were negative, but they want the angio done to rule out any abnormalities. Up until this point, I've totally ruled out the aneursym theory because all the evidence is pointing to CH, but now I'm not so certain..... Fortunately our long awaited neuro appt is happening in a couple of weeks. More nail biting I guess. Good luck to you. |

Title: Re: GAMom Update and WARNING Post by Superpain on Aug 13th, 2004, 6:28am If he head an anyeurysm rupture in the head, there's about an 80% chance he'd be dead before he hit the floor. And even if he survived and it was a small one there would most likely be serious symptoms of impaired cognitive and motor function skills by now. If your doc had the slightest idea that he had an anyeurysm and didn't order an MRI IMMEDIATELY, and that in fact turns out to be the case... Get a lawyer! I really don't think so though... My Mom had an anyeurysm rupture and it's not something that comes and goes, or goes unnoticed... He'd either be dead, be in constant pain, and/or be debilitated by now. |
