It is my belief that there are people coming here with misdiagnosis, they need to read that article, if it isn't describing their condition, then this is not the place for them. |

Title: Re: Just in case any of you are confused. Post by Superpain on Jun 22nd, 2004, 5:59pm Actually, I propose a sticky thread in this forum. Or update the current sticky with links... I know it's mostly all posted to the "left" anyway.... But I guess that gets overlooked sometimes, plus there are several links that have come about of late, like the future-drugs pdf that are very helpful. I really like helping people and I feel it's my duty to do so since I suffered so long and finally found relief here with the help of others.... But I find that I keep repeating myself to every newbie saying the same thing over and over. Gotta tell em to get a new doc. One that specializes in clusters... Tell em about O2 and the different ways to get it, and how to use it... Tell em about preventatives, abortives... Get edumacated.... etc... I also think it would be helpful if we made our own list of doctors that have been helpful. I know ouch has that but I feel it's sort of short and maybe outdated, like enough people don't take time to report and update it. I mean, we've got people in NYC that are fucking around with dumbass docs that don't know shit about cluster's and I'm convinced there are several people here on at least a somewhat regular basis that have a great doc in that area (there's probably no less than 100 in NYC). People from the Phoenix area get on all the time with bad docs and I refer them to mine.... If all of us regular members listed our best docs, and maybe even make a "blacklist" of the dumbasses, I think it would help alot of people. OK. Now back to the regular scheduled deprogramming of "why you do/don't have clusters".... [smiley=laugh.gif] |

Title: Re: Just in case any of you are confused. Post by Smartin on Jul 6th, 2004, 6:34pm Hey y'all, Im a newbie sort of...I became aware of the site when I was on the down side of my cycle last winter...now my cycle is ready to start again and I'm prepared. Superpain...you are correct when you say that all of the info is already presented to the left. I read and reread everything and then did some research on my own before I ever posted once. When I did finally post, I let the group know how much I appreciated their knowledge and that I was on my way to the doc loaded with print-outs and treatment suggestions. I also went to the OUCH site to find a doc in the Phoenix area with little success. I finally contacted a couple of members in the Phoenix area to ask for referrals. I was lucky that my primary care doc took my information seriously, did some research on his own and prescribed O2 and verap. He also gave me many free samples of Zomig nasal. I am now back on the verap working to prevent the episode that usually comes in early August. I am hoping for a PF autumn. ;) |
