Title: Happening right now Post by Sandy_C on Sep 20th, 2005, 1:29pm The oddest thing is going on. My right eyelid/brow is sagging very low, to the point where it is beginning to interfere with my vision in my right eye. Like a window shade slowly being lowered. I have absolutely no other symptoms of a hit - no pain, no runny nose, nothing. Any ideas? Sandy |

Title: Re: Happening right now Post by LeLimey on Sep 20th, 2005, 1:37pm Thats what people call a phantom cluster to Sandy, its not a hit but you get all the symptoms and no pain. Preferable to a hit anyday in my book! I do believe its got a real name which is hortons syndrome but I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong |

Title: Re: Happening right now Post by Sandy_C on Sep 20th, 2005, 2:16pm But I'm not in cycle????? [smiley=huh.gif] I had something like this toward the end of my last cycle, but I was still in the cycle. I'm completely out of cycle - this is weird! |

Title: Re: Happening right now Post by nani on Sep 20th, 2005, 2:26pm That happened to my husband last Spring, Sandy. After a number of tests to rule out other things, they finally decided it must have been caused by stress. When he changed jobs, it improved over a few weeks. Perhaps you should call your dr. Just to rule out anything serious. hugs, nani |

Title: Re: Happening right now Post by LeLimey on Sep 20th, 2005, 2:31pm I'm almost certain that this happened to Margi's hubby out of cycle too.. drop her an IM and see. I know she has talked about it before too but I agree with Nani too, it never hurts to check with your doctor! |

Title: Re: Happening right now Post by Margi on Sep 20th, 2005, 2:37pm Hi Sandy, I'll save you an IM. Yes, Mike gets the "silent" hit (as we call them). It started during remission, two cycles ago. However, this one cycle that he's STILL in, it's happening now, between attacks. I don't know what the heck is going on. Tomorrow this cycle hits the 9 month mark! I've noticed an increase in the silent hits lately, and a decrease in the full blown cluster attacks. I have no idea what's going on - he's never had a cycle last this long. But for him with his silent hits, his eyelid doesn't droop - it never has even during a full blown hit though. His pupil dilates/constricts, while the unaffected side stays normal. It reverts to normal after about 45 minutes (typical attack length for him). No pain at all, just some congestion. Very strange to witness (and he often can't even tell it's happening unless he looks in the mirror). I'm with Nani though - might be worth a call to your doc. If your eyelid drooping has happened suddenly it might be an indicator of something else going on. I wouldn't mess with it! |

Title: Re: Happening right now Post by Sandy_C on Sep 20th, 2005, 2:46pm Thanks to all. I'm now noticing just a slight amount of tearing in the right eye. Strange?? still no pain. If this doesn't go away by tomorrow, I'll call my doc. It's weird but it sure is better than getting hit with pain. I'll take looking like a half a beagle if that's what it takes to keep me PF ;;D Sandy |

Thanks Margie. I' so sorry Mike's getting hit so long right now. The silent hits have to be a blessing over a full blown hit, but 9 months is a long time. Give him a hug from me, and here some for you. [smiley=hug.gif] [smiley=hug.gif] [smiley=hug.gif] Sandy |

Title: Re: Happening right now Post by lionsound on Sep 20th, 2005, 3:10pm Sandy, If it's new for you, call your doc. I get all kinds of strange stuff without pain. Eye tearing, sneezing (non-allergy)are two of the big ones. Sometimes you can get the neuro symptoms with out the pain. Hope it clears up soon. Be well, lionsound |

Title: Re: Happening right now Post by Kris_in_SJ on Sep 20th, 2005, 7:49pm Sandy, I agree with the above - see your doc if this is something new. However, I can tell you that my left eye droops to varying degrees ever since my first cycle. I especially notice it when I'm stressed or tired - and it always shows up in photos. Silent is good, just not good for your appearance, I guess. Check it out anyway. Hugs, Kris |
