Title: Starting with Melatonine
Post by Juan_Carlos on Aug 13th, 2005, 10:20am
Hi:

I'm starting last nigth using melatonine (9 mg), but the attacks increases from 3 per night(normal for me at the CH cicle)  to 6 attacks.

I'm using topiramato also (25 mg per day).

Any idea!
It´s normal?
It´s only coincidence?

tks. friends

Not a Dr.  but here is my  [smiley=twocents.gif]

Melatoning takes time to build in your system so you may want to try it for at least a week and see if things change.

Remember the Beast likes to change things up at times so that may be what is going on.

What else are you trying for CH???

Juan

My experience with Melatonin.  Well it always helped me get sleep the HA usually Waited till the AM wake up to inflicked the pain not bad just the shadows.

I just rescently got on Verap 120mg again but this time it is at night.  Well needless to say I don't need Melatonin anymore because my Verap knocks me out.  That is one of the reasons I can't take it during the day.

I as well use O2 and as a last resort Imitrex 2mg according to the tip to the left.

Lately I can honestly say life has been a little ruffer but that is due to the fact that stress in my life has increased.  I am going for my RN so studying brings it out that much more.

Tried Kudzu without success, Zomig, and Indocine.  Haven't tried much more then that besides vitamins that have been good for the body just made me bruise a little more easily then before.

Don't give up on Melatonin just yet.  Do you get woke up in the middle of the night with 6 hits or is this day attacks?  (I ask because my attacks are during the evening around 8:30-11pm).

Does this help any?

Kim

Some people report that it seems to make them worse....The fact is that we are all different and respond differently to everything therefore it may or may not...

The one thing I will tell you as far as my experience was that I had to stick with it...The first night I took melatonin, I was awoken with a doozy only I was too groggy to find my O2 .....It got a lot better for me....I then slept through the night but would get slammed about 1/2 hour after waking up....kinda like knocking the beast off schedule.....then again I was peaking and this cycle has been all over the place with no real pattern.
I stayed with melatonin and have had decent sleep overall.

Some also mix regular with time released melatonin.

Benedryl or dramamine has also been noted to be helpful.

We're all different my friend!

Eric
