Title: Light Headedness? Post by chockey on Aug 7th, 2005, 3:26pm The last week or so I've been having some lightheadedness. Is this something that is commonly associated with CH? I don't have the lightheadedness during the headaches but more throughout the day. Has anyone else had this experience as well? It's making me a little nervous. |

Title: Re: Light Headedness? Post by unsolved1 on Aug 7th, 2005, 4:34pm no, "lightheadedness" is not commonly associated with clusters. May be one of your meds lowering you blood pressure. I'd get it checked out asap. UNsolved |

Title: Re: Light Headedness? Post by floridian on Aug 7th, 2005, 5:13pm Definitely worth checking into this more - could be several things, some no problem, some potentially serious. If its not a side effect of meds, consider some of the following: The balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems is flaky in clusterheads - this could give rise to light headedness, a feeling of unreality, palpitations, anxiety, depression, or other symptoms in the head. Any ringing in the ears? Sinus problems? These can disturb the inner ear, which throws off the sense of balance, causing dizzyness or light headedness. Many clusterheads have circulatory problems - overcoagulation or other problems that could possibly lead to reduced circulation to the brain, mini-strokes, etc. Don't flip out over this possibility, but consider talking to your doctor about low dose aspirin therapy or some other anti-coagulant ... there is evidence that some people with clusters and migraines improve on anti-coagulants. |

Title: Re: Light Headedness? Post by Jasmyn on Aug 8th, 2005, 4:02pm Chockey, I have very low blood pressure and the meds just aggravates it. Besides that and the insomnia I am not very keen on food when I'm in a period. So, yes, I feel dizzy and light headed most of the time but like you can see it's not the CH itself but the results of CH. Go see your doc if it persists. Good luck! ;) |

Jas, are you related to me? I too have very low blood pressure, and since my "big hits" are usually around dinner time, I miss a lot of meals. With the lack of good nourishment, I get a little lightheaded at times too. How much does blood pressure play in CH? Sandy |

Sandy I don't know if it plays any role as people with high blood pressure also gets CH. Where is Ueli now when you need him? I'm sure he will be able to give us the correct info, the only problem is I'm on his S**t list at this moment. :( |

Welcome to the club. ;) I have high BP now but always had almost abnormally low BP. I've had CH since 1973. If you're bothered by low BP, just do what I did. Smoke a lot more, gain a lot of weight, eat a crappy diet, stop moving. It's really easy. ;;D |

We thought it was meds for years. (Episodic) But this year the dizziness started before the clusters and meds. God Bless. |

Title: Re: Light Headedness? Post by clusterkat on Aug 10th, 2005, 1:28pm what my fiance` lovingly refers to as a "blonde moment". but seriously, ive fainted 3 times this year, passed out completely just once so far. as a female w/ generally low bp, now its all over the map. light headedness is a daily routine for me, its disrupted my excercise, my focus & my life. geeezzz don't mean to be a alarmlist, but this is typical ch diease for me. advice; take it slow & breath, be careful of medication cocktails too. wishes you well, ^kat |

Title: Re: Light Headedness? Post by pattik on Aug 11th, 2005, 7:09pm Chockey I will experience lightheadedness when I have been unfortunate enough to have to ride out a Kip 8 or 9 without any meds or O2. I have always chalked it up to my own endorphins kicking in to try to offset the pain. pk |
