Title: Look what I just found...

I know OUCH is discussing having a card for ER treatment, but while that's in the works...look what I found on Teri Robert's site! I think we would all benefit from something like this. Thanks Teri!

Good one, Nani.  While we're on the go I found this in Wikipedia, a free on-line encyclopaedia -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_headaches

Doesn't name the author but it's quite obviously written from the inside.

Both of those are great.  Thanks for the research.

hi,
thanks for posting that form!
i'm going to bring it to my doctor on monday and give it to him.
i'm almost 100% sure i've got this stuff... but i'll give the doc his chance to do his magic.
best,
dan
ps. oh yeah, i'm waiting for the next one to hit early this morning, and if it does, off i go to the ER.
and, yes, this sucks. :o ::)

Hey Daniel, I have been dancing with the beast this evening as well and doing my level best to avoid the ER.  Decided baby dill pickles had to be the cure.  HAsn't helped my HA but my dog is happy (she loves them).
Usually if I can make it this late I'm good to go but for some reason tonight he won't go back to his cave...he just lurks back there behind my eye waiting to pounce but good.
Here's hoping we both make it through the night without drastic measures.
Kim

:) hi kim,
wishing you a pleasant and pain free evening.
so far, shadows all day long.
for the last month, i would get hit within 10 minutes of a shadow so this is new.
i have no idea yet how my cycles run, because this is so new, just about 5 weeks now.
i'm learning every minute.
and thank goodness for you folks and this site!
best to you,.
daniel

both great. I especially like the encyclopedia. If only all the doctors would read it BEFORE we went and saw them.

Despite enduring hours of unimaginable agony on many nights while I consider begging someone to take me to a hospital.  Despite this nightmare becoming so intense that I must remind myself to breathe.  I have never gone to the emergency room for treatment.

I'm not being strong - on these very nights I am left in uncontrollable tears while I beg God and any other force in the universe to make it stop.

I don't go because I know that what I am dealing with will not be recognized in the emergency room and treatment will still be hours away.

I don't know if I can endure a car ride just to be treated with skepticism by a hospital staff that has no clue.

I don't know if I can endure endlessly parading myself back and forth in front of a room full of people who could only believe my antics are those of a drug addict who needs a fix.

I don't know if I can endure explaining that after my  hours of displays of unimaginable agony that everything is just better now and that I miraculously no longer need help.

Thanks to both of you for providing something that may make my decison to go to the ER easier the next time.
I only hope that I can get past the rest of my ER fears.

Tom

Thanks Nani & Teri

That was great.  Saved it to the puter so I can print it off and take it in next time I see my Dr.

I've seen this before. What sucks is that they say "migraine" on the form. Too bad. They almost got it right.

UNsolved <-- Don't have migraines !!

It's a great letter and if you prefer, save it to your PC and edit the "migraine" out

I haven't been to the emergency room for these same reasons.  I'm not sure if I'll ever go.  I would like for someone in the medical field truly understand and identify an attack when looked upon.  I believe even with paperwork in hand,  I won't get the treatment until after my fit!  (Sorry to be negative)  On the sunnyside,  I enjoyed the reading.

i just got back from the ER. the doc knew about CH, and I explained everything I had learned so far. he said, well, it sure sounds like CH, but we need to do a CAT scan. so, i got the scan and it showed "clear".
so, diagnosis: CH.

That's great stuff Nani!

I did a printout too. My neurologist says he can use more information. He says a brochure is what is needed. I hope we can get something to stick in the rack amidst all that drug company literature.

Do you have a copy of the wallet card, Helen? He likes that idea too. Just scan it or something. I should have kept one.  ::)

Nice going kids! http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/superhero.gif

That has been around for quite some time. It belongs to Terri Roberts and may be copy righted.

OUCH should be formatting one for CH ers.

Teri has it available on her site for CH sufferers. We can use it as individuals. I figured we should have it available while OUCH works on one. After reading a post of Chuck's on another thread... it would be great if somewhere on a card or letter, we can make it clear that we don't want to be touched or bothered during an attack. Just make O2 available and leave me alone until it's over.

I've known Teri since way back when. Very territorial about her stuff. Not sure why.
