Title: MRI ever trigger a CH? Post by Leggs on Jul 21st, 2005, 5:26pm I recall seasonal boomer saying his Dad had a CH during an MRI. I couldn't believe that horror until yesterday. I was having MRIs on my cervical and thoracic spine for the car accident BS. It was about1 and a half hours on the table. Part of my injury was my skull just really hurts at the base where the spine goes in, and lying there, it felt like I was lying on an ice pick just slowly boring into the back of my head. My neck got really tight, and then I felt it turning into the CH in my eye. By the time I got up, it was about a 7kip, looked in the mirror in the dressing room, and I had a dilated eye :o. Has anyone ever had it trigged by tension? I had my good ole twice a year jobs, but I am beginning to think this other mess going on with my neck is a trigger now too. Twice a year was enough....okay, sorry chronics, whine whine whine This is the first significant CH I have had since I became a zu-bee. I have been on the kudzu about 3 weeks now, and dutifully came home and took my night time dose, and didn't have any more. CH is such a gripe. It's like the grim reaper waiting around every corner, you just never know when it's going to hit, you even think you have it licked and whamo. Have an appointment FINALLY with a pain specialist about an hour away in Atlanta on Monday. I have lots of scans and such I can take to him. I am hoping he can sort through all the extraneous crap I have going on, on TOP of the CH. I would never had thought CH was something I could handle...well it was, until it staying more than a couple weeks twice a year PF days everyone...T.Ann |

Title: Re: MRI ever trigger a CH? Post by Topical on Jul 22nd, 2005, 4:51am Was the pillow the hourglass type that supports your neck while you were on your back? I'm just throwing out other possible causes. CH typically isn't triggered by touch, but there are other headache types that are. Stress would be a good culprit, were you slightly claustrophobic while in the tube? I hope they took two scans, one during the attack and one when you did not have the attack. A doctor would love to have that for comparison. |

Title: Re: MRI ever trigger a CH? Post by Leggs on Jul 22nd, 2005, 2:39pm They just had a little pile of sheets rolled up I think. Since I had this car wreck last year, my neck has been constantly stiff, and I have this other headache. when I got the regular CH in February, it just never went away, and they classic, running nose, dilated droopy eye, ice pick roller coaster headahces have been popping up unexpectedly. the regularity of my twice yearly cycles is gone. I do know something in addition to clusters is going on, but one nuero said trigeminal neuralgia, and I think that 's a mis diagnosis. I may have some kind of other neuralgia, but I don't think that's it. Hey aren't clusters enough for one human to take? |

Title: Re: MRI ever trigger a CH? Post by Leggs on Jul 22nd, 2005, 10:05pm I just made sure I never opened my eyes, I was deep breathing a tad, but not too bad. They had to redo a small section of it, who knows why. I did have a pretty strong urge to start screaming "Get me out," but then I knew I would have to have it redone, I kept trying to guess how much longer it would be. I kept trying to say prayers, then the wham wham wham thing would start or the thing that sounds like you are in a star wars sequel would start. Just when I thought I was going to lose it, the sound went off, and I could actually HEAR the music in the headphones, and it was Louis!!! Yes, Loius Armstrong, one of my all time favorites was singing "And I think to myself, what a wonderful world. ...." ;;D That was almost a sick joke, here I am in an MRI coffin, working up the kip scale....I guess when I was saying all those prayers, they were answered. By that time it was almost over. Still pain free today, fingers crossed. |
