Title: If your doctor will not prescribe O2 then Post by Topical on Jul 8th, 2005, 9:12am Send them here or print this out: http://www.aafp.org/afp/20050215/717.html Oxygen is now the "Treatment of choice" as an abortive according to the article dated February 15, 2005. Recommended dosage: 7 L per minute for 15 minutes via face mask Adverse effects: None The authors were from UCSD. UCSD's credentials are impeccable in the medical community. The only problem is your insurance company may have a requirement that you have tried other abortives. It does not work for everyone but is well worth trying. |

Title: Re: If your doctor will not prescribe O2 then Post by jcmquix on Jul 8th, 2005, 9:20am Thats why I had to cover the cost of my O2, my Insurance Company said that I was not a reconized treatment by the MDA... [smiley=huh.gif] :-/ They said that if I wanted it covered I had to go to like 2 other different Dr's, that why I just checked in to paying myself. I just figured it was cheeper doing that, rather than lose time at work, running around and getting more HA's from the stress.. If you want O2 and are willing to pay for it yourself, let your Dr know that. Thats why they didn't perscribe it to me on the first visit, they knew my Insurance would not cover it. As soon as I told them I had everything lined up, all I needed was the Script, the Dr gave it to me.. Just a little advise that I found in the last few days, Hope it helps... PFDAN's to ALL !!! |

Title: Re: If your doctor will not prescribe O2 then Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on Jul 9th, 2005, 1:00am well, i dont know how much the O2 is, i only pay a copay. But i think its cheap anyway. How much do you pay for a tank of 670 litres? My insurance company told me i could only have O2 for 3 months. You can bet they got an earfull from me, and i have O2 all the time now. Demand what you need. They are there to serve your medical needs. If you teach them about clusters and popular remedies as shown here, they may be more willing to help you out. PF wishes BMonee and PS, 15lpm with a non-rebreather bag works well for lots. then after a few minutes i sometimes turn mine down to 14 or 12 just to conserve, but it helps. |

Title: Re: If your doctor will not prescribe O2 then Post by Topical on Jul 9th, 2005, 1:07am The cost should be the same regardless of the quantity. It's not like gasoline. The person who helped me out at the shop said they would rather fill the larger ones than the smaller ones due to work involved. That's where their costs are. (3 tanks vs. 1 for example). |
