Well this morning I woke up exhasted like I tossed and turned all night. I took Melatonin last night. Man I was supposed to run today and just don't feel motivated. Blah blah blah. Going to make coffee. |

Title: Re: SICK AND TIRED Post by pattik on Jul 7th, 2005, 11:31am Lately, I have been finding that I need to use the melatonin for 3-4 nights in a row before it really kicks in. But then it works great (at least for a while). So don't give up on it, and try not to nap. Good luck. :) Pat |

Title: Re: SICK AND TIRED Post by Kim Y. on Jul 7th, 2005, 12:38pm Ok I Ran. Man was it a little too warm out there. My stomach cramped up in the middle of nowhere for about 5 min and then finally died down and I was able to get back to my house. Now I am poring H2O down. Quote:
Thanks for the motivation Paul and the encouragement Pat. I know I whine more then I should on here knowing that you all suffer just as much if not more. I am just sick and tired for all of us that is all. No where else to turn. Thanks...............Kim [smiley=hug.gif] Hope that this message finds you all doing well today. Take care. |

Title: Re: SICK AND TIRED Post by kimmeesue on Jul 7th, 2005, 4:40pm Hey, come on Kim, it's only 90* out there today. 8) We are having a cool spell compared with last week. As for the melatonin, ya' gotta' be consistent, not hit and miss. Do you work the same shift all the time? That can be a real problem for people in the med field. My son works weekends in the ER (7 pm - 7 am) then goes to school during the week. His body doesn't know when to sleep. Hope you have a good night. [smiley=hug.gif] Kim |

Title: Re: SICK AND TIRED Post by Kris_in_SJ on Jul 7th, 2005, 8:45pm Kimmesue is right, Kim. You have to be consistent with the Melatonin and take it every night, morning, whatever your shift. It usually takes several nights, days, whatever, to build up blood levels and act as a help agent. Trust me ... the grogginess and laziness wear off quickly. Hang in There! Kris |

Title: Re: SICK AND TIRED Post by millie the episodic on Jul 8th, 2005, 7:06am Is melatonin the one that you have to detox for, and do you have to refrane from using imitrex? And to Kim, don"t be sorry when you are complaining (venting) to someone who understands what you are going through, save it for those who don't! I am going through hell and I think that someone should know, even if they can't help me. You are not alone, we are all SICK & TIRED. |

Title: Re: SICK AND TIRED Post by bnfreeman on Jul 8th, 2005, 9:50am That's what we are here for, to listen. I hate talking about this shit to people who don't have a clue. I have my good days and my bad. I will be having my one year chronic anniversary soon. And it sucks! I have a 2 year old and can barely work. But I need a part time job and I'm scared to death because I don't want to start a job and get slammed daily and freak everyone out! :o My anxiety is through the roof! I want a a head transplant! There's my vent. I hope everyone is doing well and we all get relief soon. BF |

Melatonin is to assist in sleep but any sleep agent your not suppose to take all the time because when you are ready to come off you can't sleep without it. Am I not right or does Melatonin not fit in that catagorie??? I just thought I was suppose to take it when I needed it to sleep due to the pain! Quote:
Thanks all for understanding me venting. I just want to pull my hair from both sides of my head and scream STOP. But that would hurt that much more. Thanks again... [smiley=hug.gif] |

Title: Re: SICK AND TIRED Post by millie the episodic on Jul 8th, 2005, 1:10pm Kim Y., you sound so much like me, can I take this moment and laugh..hee hee! [smiley=laugh.gif] Really, thank you for that laugh as it is all that I have had to laugh about today. -Can I vent?- :'( I have had anywhere from 2 to 3 headache-hells since July 3rd, and I realize and thank God that I am not chronic, but still... I wake up in the morning with an anvil sitting on the right side of my head that had some sort of shocking dagger that on impulse stubs me in my head, sometimes it feels like its coming from inside out, but that sounds crazy, because if there was something like "X-File" in there they would have seen that on the MRI, oh well I am still trying to fugure this thing out. Did I tell you that I am in the middle of a dance with the Headman, and I am trying to think my way through. See I am a shifhtworker with 12 hr shifts, and I am suppose to start nights tonight after being off for a week. But at the same time I have been going through HELL all week. (Am I the one who said to vent?) :-X I have been fortunate that not alot of people have seen my MONSTER, because sometimes he scares me. I feel sorry for my family (my husband & children) because they live with me and what they don't see, they hear :(. I try to hide it from them by sometimes going outside day or night (when my hulk comes out, I am not scare to go outside in the dark) and I plead the Blood of the Lamb, and scream and rock and rub my skull very gently. See I been thinking that I could kill this giant with kindness, (plus, when you be knocking the hell out of yourself, that shit hurts later, and I'm sure That Bastard is laughing at us for doing it). But with the help of you clusterguys and clustergals I realize that I have to have a bullet to slay this dragon. My husband is afraid that I may have to quit my jod because of this ball and chain that I have attached to my head, but I am thinking "Lord have mercy on me" and what about me. These headaches-hells have been in my life for at least the last 13 yrs. I am still remembering meeting this Bastard earlieron in my life, like having teeth pulled, ear aches stiff neck, blearred vision, etc.... But I need my job, I need to have my insurance to keep paying all these doctors who still don't know anymore than I do about CLUSTER HEADACHES. Im just looking toward my remission period. But since the worse headaches happen in your sleep, (Because the Bastard is a coward, looks like to me), maybe I will make it through the night just as I have so many times before. I guess that is what we have to do. Be stong and not dwell on the next time just TRY and be ready to deal with the next time. Thank ya'll letting me VENT! I really feel better, I have out thought The Bastard!!! |

Title: Re: SICK AND TIRED Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on Jul 9th, 2005, 12:53am Stay strong Kim and PF wishes being transmitted. I hear you about the sleep. The lack of sleep for 2 straight months or whatever can take a bad toll. 1 little piece of advice that i have found, you must take the melatonin and benadryl 1 hour before bed. It doesnt work as well if you just take the pills and go to bed, it needs a little time to get in your system, and it gets in better if you are upright, not in bed. Also, make sure you leave enough time to sleep. Dont take 12mg melatonin at 1am if you have to be up at 4:30. Unfortunately, i learned that one the hard way ;) PF wishes and special delivery from the sandman please. BMonee |

Title: Re: SICK AND TIRED Post by millie the episodic on Jul 9th, 2005, 9:41am Kim, it was the part about "Going to make coffee" I thought that I was the only one who lives on coffee while in the cycle, but you all are the only others ones like me that I know. ;;D I am thankful for you all, and I told my friend at work that I have found new friends who are like me. |

Title: Re: SICK AND TIRED Post by AussieBrian on Jul 9th, 2005, 10:40am Glad you feel at home, and happy to tell you something about coffee that works for me. When the milder ones hit, just the little beasties you reckon you can handle with ordinary painkillers, I wash them down with serious coffee. It makes them work twice as quick with half the dose for double the result. It also settles me just that bit and allows me to believe I'm in control. Hoping this helps, Brian. |

Title: Re: SICK AND TIRED Post by E-Double on Jul 10th, 2005, 11:43am Kim, though I continue to make posts about melatonin ... i really should edit to add the amount of full night sleeps I have had since not using it....... I gave my body a rest from it and though I get some night time hits it appears to have regulated my sleep pattern. For the most part I do not use it anymore unless I have entered a peak and if it appears to me that it might be a rough night. Personally I have not found any difficulty coming off of it as one would with other "sleep aids" Just my personal experience |
