Title: I am back again DJ...anything new?
Post by cjc68 on Jul 6th, 2005, 4:19pm
Hello DJ and all the cluster heads...it has been a few years since I have been here. I would like to know what is new since the last time I have been invited to dance. The invitations are arriving so its time to prepare again!
I would like to know what new medicatons and treatments have come out in past few years...during my last cluster season I was using Imitrx injections (abortive) and bellaspas (prevention). I was lucky and had insurance at the time but this time I dont have that advantage! We all know how expensive the imitrex is, a few years ago it was about $60 per shot(without insurance) and I was going through 2 to 3 per day! Is there any where one could get aid for that kind of cost? If not are there any new treatments? Not long ago I heard about studies with seizure medication...is there any hope there? and what is this Kudzu and where can I get it? DJ you have a tremendous help to me in the past and would be greatful for any suggestions you might have. I have been a visitor and a member of this site for years now and I can truely call this my sanctuary during my cluster periods. Thanks to all and to all I wish many pain free days.....Chris

if you read the kudzu thread you will see all the info you need ot give it a try. At less than 10 bucks a container this a pretty cheap, seemingly effective tool. Worked for me.

I hope the cluster is short lived for you.

If he reads that Kudzu post he won't be back here to this thread in at least a day. It's huge!

As I was reading the 600+ posts, the effects reminded me of verapmil. Dizziness in some at first, reduction in attacks or shadows instead of attacks. Stopping the Kudzu would bring on the attacks in some. One bleeding episode was blamed on Kudzu. There are some strong defenders of the big green monster who strongly disagreed. More research on it is definitely needed. I am willing to give it a try once my verapmil script expires.

The military has self-injectors for nerve gas. They knock you out instantly. I might willing to give that a test.
