Title: Re: switching sides Post by Kris_in_SJ on Jun 13th, 2005, 8:06pm Hi Hurtin, The old switcheroo - not uncommon during separate cycles, but pretty rare the way you're experiencing them. It's not unheard of though, so don't freak out. Just do your best to kick them in the A$$! Kris |

Title: Re: switching sides Post by jokrs2 on Jun 14th, 2005, 8:53pm Yep. I can get hit on both sides of the face in the same day while I've been chronic. Right side gets it the most so I have continuous droop on that eyelid. Hang in there. Blessing's, Joe |

Title: Re: switching sides Post by Sandy_C on Jun 15th, 2005, 5:41pm First CH in 1999 on right. Have been a "rightie" ever since then. This cycle, right side only, 8 weeks long, just finished end of April. This is mid June. For the last two weeks, getting very low hits on left side, occuring at same time of day/night that regular Ch on right side occurred for 8 weeks., but not every day. Eureka! Just found something very interesting. During regular cycle (right side), alcohol major trigger, went on the wagon entire cycle. Once cycle ended, went back to occasional beer - no wine or booze yet - with no probs. Bought a little package of fudge from the grocery store. Had one piece, 5 min later - level 3-4 Ch on LEFT side. But since cycle seemed to have ended, can now drink myself into the toilet with nothing happening on either side. One piece of fudge? Oh [smiley=frown.gif] |

Title: Re: switching sides Post by ClusterChuck on Jun 15th, 2005, 6:06pm 27 years, last 7 chronic. Always left sided. Yet, a month or two ago, I got my first hit on the right side. Today, I got a KIP8, on my left side. Finally finished, and then 15 minutes later I felt another one coming on, on the right side. I said, "Oh shit! Oh, wait, that is on my right side, so it ain't a hit ..." WRONG!! KIP7, right side! I am wondering, is this a sign that I am going to switch sides? Or is it going to be like something else I do ... I use either hand ... Ambi-dick-sterous ... ?? ?? ?? ;;D Gotta laugh about it ... The only thing that keeps me going!!! I do enough cursing, pleading, crying, screaming, etc. DURING a hit ... Hang in there, my friend, you CAN survive this!! Chuck |

Title: Re: switching sides Post by Iain Nicol on Jun 21st, 2005, 7:45am Just had the same type of experience. Did 6 weeks of rightside. The cluster peaked, subsided and then went away. Whoopee!!!! For 2 days, then another one started on the left So, in all this has been a 3 month cluster cluster. I guess the only thing to do is grin and bear it. It's run out of sides now so hopefully it'll go away |

Title: Re: switching sides Post by kimmeesue on Jun 21st, 2005, 1:28pm HAs anyone experienced a double switcheroo? Sunday I had my usual right-sided heavy shadow progress throughout the day. Didn't want to spoil Father's day so I tried to ignore as best I could. At one point it ramped up to an icepick hit and then a few minutes later it switched to the left side (the icepick). That lasted for several minutes and then switched back to the right side and ramped up to an 8. Never heard of or experienced anything like this. Any ideas? |

Title: Re: switching sides Post by yikes-another-one on Jun 21st, 2005, 9:44pm well, have you ever had the hits come on, you know with very little time between. get a 45 minute one, get five minutes pain free and then another 40 minute one and then 10 minutes free and another 50 minute one? One time, I swear i got a left (mostly lefty) at 7:02am. say a level 6 ...by 7:15 the right side ached along a level 3 or 4... by 7:30 the left side finally stopped hurting. and by 7:40 the right side was down to a shadow pain. then at 7:50 left side hit at a level 5 that lasted about 40 minutes. That seems so strange and crazy!!!! Btu that is why surgery isn't recommended. Because the beast is a SWITCH-HITTER!!! |
