I've read that that cluster headaches do not get as bad if you live closer to the equator.

The theory is that there is less difference in daylight hours between seasons the closer you are to the equator and less for the hypothalmus to adjust.

Is there any truth to this, or is this just nonsense?

I lived in Venezuela for many years. Caracas, the city where I lived, is just 11 degrees north of the equator, very very close to the actual line.

When I lived there, my cycles were more frequent. When I moved to Florida, the cycles became one year apart, and prior to my current one, I did not have a cycle for 3 years.

Now, the change in frequency of cycles could be due to my proximity to the equator, or to my getting older. I've been here for 10 years, and I'm 37 now. I remember my first HA at 14 or 15 yrs old.

Hmmmm, well I live up here in Washington 48* lat ??? and I went 7 years w/o any attacks. Maybe there is something to thisbut you have it backwards.

OK everyone, move north to Barrow Alaska lying at 70Â° 39' 48" north.
