I've been reading a lot of everyone's posts and it sounds like most of you have left side pain when your cluster headaches are occuring.

My headaches ALWAYS occur on the left side...usually it is a dull pain in my left eye, and sometimes it can be a throbbing pain...i also get throbbing pains in other area's of the left, always on the front of my face...sometimes near the ear. But like I said the pain is almost always in my left eye!

I'd love for everything to post and tell whether they get pain in the left, right, or both sides...im just curious...thanks!

My pain has always been on the left side-left eye, behind left eye, left eye socket.  Cluster HAs can occur on either side and rarely change sides and I have not heard of a case where the pain is bilateral.  One of the diagnostic tools used to dx CH is that the pain always occurs on one side and in the areas that I mentioned.  My regrets that you have CH-I hope that it is episodic (mine is chronic) and that you enjoy months or years between attacks.

Left.

Clusters usually don't throb.  More of a very sharp, constant, burning pain.

They aren't a "dull pain," either!  More of an extremely severe, boring/burning, bang your head on a door post kind of pain.

I do believe their is a survey to the left <== on the cluster survery button that polls how many are left or right sided.

I asked about left handed/right handed compared to left/right CH's awhile back. No correlation. Seems the Beast hits whatever side it feels like.

Mine have been right sided 90 % of the time. I've had a few cycles on the left though.

Always Left, behind left eye, seems to center at the left side at the base of my skull and fans out to encompass the left side of my head.... never dull ... always an intense burning.... feels as if hot lava is being injected at the base of the skull, in my skull, etc... you all know the deal ...

for the past 20 months on the left just yesterday it switched to right. Its like its starting all over with the intense pain, eye, ear, inner throat ,base of scull, and o2, zomig or stadol is only taking edge off .  ANYONE ELSE HAD CH SWITCH SIDES?
GETTIN REAL TIRED OF THIS SH T.

I have had my CH switch sides but it occured only when I first started having them (16 years old).  My cycles didnt seem to be as well "organized" as they are now either.  Now that Im a little older (23), I always get hit on the right and my cycles are predictable.  On either side of the head, they suck ass!!

Left starts out behind my eye and gradually moves its way backward into my head and stays there for days and then decrease for a short time...occasionally get hit on Right.  Kim

I'm a lefty.  Usually the eye and down into my upper jaw.

I've never had it switch (Thank God for small favors) and I hope it never does.

Mine start in the right eye and socket 99% of the time. With bad ones it goes from the eye to the temple to the teeth, then to the jaw joint and up to the ear. Then progresses to the base of the skull.
