Title: SINUSBUSTER.COM
Post by scs on Apr 17th, 2005, 12:57am
I'm writing this for my husband who has suffered with CH for 6 years.  Anywhere from 15-20 per day 6-8 minutes each but extremely painful. Or a couple a day lasting 4-6 hours each with severe pain near the end.  Have tried everything everyone else has tried and nothing helps.  Accupuncture helped for a long time but it reached a point where it wasn't as effective as it was in the begining and you have to get into the accupuncturist quickly, not always possible.  Last week we found the Sinusbuster.com website and figured he could try it.  What do you have to lose but the headache.  Had the first CH tonight and used the spray.  Less than 20 seconds into the pain it dimished and went away.  Only left slight stinging in the nose.  Nothing compared to the head pain. Just want to let others know about this and consider giving it a try.  It is completely natural with no side effects except the stinging which goes away quickly.  It was quite inexpensive as well.  Give it a try it worked for him.  We'll see what happens from here on out.

If you want to sell Sinusbuster to people with cluster headaches, you should at least get the symptoms right....

Not looking to get into an argument with anyone.  Describing all the symptoms would take forever.  Assumed if you were reading this site you would know the symptoms.  We were just hoping to help someone else as this helped him.  Apparently you must not be open to trying anything new and your pain must not be such that it warrants finding something that helps.  Personally we have been willing to try anything that might help and this did.  We were not tryng to "sell" this to anyone, only want to help.  Good luck to you and your attitude.

I think they might just be getting a bit bored of replying to Sinus buster threads. ;;D ;;D

This IS quite a funny one though, they do usually do a bit more research about the symptoms before they post.

I DREAM of 6-8 minute attacks.
I could then take Indo and have no need for sticking stuff up my nose! oh, and I wouldn't be here, because I wouldn't have CH ;;D

Ditto Nani -- You would think someone trying to sell something could,  at the very least , get the symptoms down.

A word of advice scs, you will find that if you're trying to sell snake oil (Hot pepper extract in this case) to these ppl that things will be quickly put into perspective for you.  I might add the perspective you will be on the receiving end of may very well be in the harshest of terms.  The best thing I could tell you would be to pack your little suitcase of miracle cures, lucky charms, etc. and move along.  You'll find no quarter here nor will you find a market for your product.  As you have probably already deducted, we do not entertain this type of psychobabble nor trolls at all.

There is some troll food for you, now begone and trouble us no further !!!   >:( >:(

Ahhh, but it's not a fake:

Quote:
A double-blind placebo-controlled trial of intranasal capsaicin for cluster headache.

Marks DR, Rapoport A, Padla D, Weeks R, Rosum R, Sheftell F, Arrowsmith F

Clinical Immunology Unit, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston 92114.

It has been suggested that treatment of cluster headache (CH) patients with topical capsaicin may desensitize sensory neurons by depleting the nerve terminals of substance P. We attempted to determine whether capsaicin is effective in aborting CH attacks. Patients in acute cluster were randomized to receive either capsaicin or placebo in the ipsilateral nostril for 7 days. Patients recorded the severity of each headache for 15 days. Headaches on days 8-15 of the study were significantly less severe in the capsaicin group vs the placebo group. There was also a significant decrease in headache severity in the capsaicin group on days 8-15 compared to days 1-7, but not in the placebo group. Episodic CH patients appeared to benefit more than chronic CH patients. These results indicate that intranasal capsaicin may provide a new therapeutic option for the treatment of this disease.

The salesperson probably is but the treatment isn't.

Facts are these:

- Capsicum helps in some cluster sufferes (Paco et al 2000 CH.com MB). Medical Chronical S.A. is actually running article on it this month

-  The idea that Cluster and TN could in certain cases overlap was heracy punishable by MB death untill about a year or two ago (unless you're me in which case you simply re-incarnate!) So.... as for the durantion and frequency of SCS's she-man husband's head pain having cluster like qualities, well I can't disagree with the general opnion... but only because I don't know. No one really knows where the lions are. They just pretend they do

- No idea whether SCS stands to benefit financially (I mean at least you know I've got some stick in the game!!)

- The story is plausible on an outside chance... even if he did marry a man

Thing is, see, there's always plently of time to burn up trolls and lots of soldiers to do it. But one contributing sufferer or supporter lost, is the undoing of a thousand prayers

Take your time

make sure

The treatment does have merit.  The premis is that the hot pepper depletes the supply of substance P, the stuff that makes pain hurt.  You may still get an attack but it doesn't hurt because the substance P is so low.  I guess you could say that the pepper use does for substance P what histamine desensitivation does for histamine.

and besides, it's great with cheese and tortilla chips to create a dynamite little hot dip. And on the way through, you'll find that you no longer feel those hemerhoids as badly as you use to. Stuff just beats the substance "P" out of them.

can also be used in place of a little "personal lubricant" from what I here?

Someone ran a nationwide double blind- placebo study on this a couple of years ago, I participated in the study. They shut the study down about half way through due to lack of positive results. This study was directed at Clusters, Meegrains not involved. University of Oklahoma Medical school did the study here but never told us who was behind it. Could it have been SINUSBUSTERS?

For grins I decided to go to sinusbullshit.com
anyway the guy claims he was sprayed with pepper spray while he was having a cluster attack, then he goes on to say that his Migrain completley went away???... What a dork
Even his pitch is flawed, check it out :

During that time I agreed to be sprayed by the “real thing” for a news report in Albany, New York. Just before the news crew was ready to start taping, I began to have one of my cluster headaches. It was coming on fast and furious -- one sided nasal congestion followed by excrutiating pain behind my eye and temple. I nearly collapsed, but the show had to go on. So as my head pounded with excruciating pain, I allowed the news reporter to spray me with the pepper spray. The pain was horrible, and a bunch of it went up my nose. As I coughed and choked on the fumes, I realized my headache was gone.

Just like that --- my sinus was wide open, and my headache disappeared. After about 20 minutes of flushing my face with cool water to relieve the pepper effects, it dawned on me that my migraine was completely gone, and it wasn’t coming back. My sinus was wide open, and I could breath like never before. I knew the pepper had cured my headache, but I also knew this wasn’t the way to go about it

The point about these SB trolls that burns my @ss is that they think they have the ability to deceive others with what has little to do with empathizing.  The SB trader cares little about any sufferer being a loser (in their eyes) or about the sufferer's emotional state, yet they attempt to sound like they do.  This is not done out of any empathetic understanding or concern but yet always attempting to gain OUR empathy for someone we know nothing about except they want us to think, "I have suffered like you", quickly getting to the "nothing has helped" routine.

I'm writing this for my husband who has suffered with CH for 6 years.  Anywhere from 15-20 per day 6-8 minutes each but extremely painful. Or a couple a day lasting 4-6 hours each with severe pain near the end.  Have tried everything everyone else has tried and nothing helps
