Title: Is climate a factor? Post by berszoo on Apr 3rd, 2005, 1:37pm Hello! I've been a sufferer for 8 years, read this site regularly. Of course there is no treatment. But since the cluster is related to the hippotalamus, I was wondering. Where the climate is always the same (like tropical), is cluster the same? Maybe your body does not have to accomodate to the ever changing wheather. Does anybody have experience with moving to a different continent, and having no more headaches? Zoltan Beres Hungary |

Title: Re: Is climate a factor? Post by zrmulcahy on Apr 3rd, 2005, 5:58pm I have heard that cluster has a higher incidence further from the equator. It doesn't have to do with the climate per se they think. Instead it has to do with the pattern of days getting longer or shorter, which has less variation closer to the equator. The hypothalamus is involved in the daily rhythm of the body; perhaps adjusting to different day lengths stresses it out. |

Title: Re: Is climate a factor? Post by floridian on Apr 3rd, 2005, 10:55pm Less change in daylength through the year is good for some episodics. Heat is a trigger for some. The best place to live is Ecuador, where they have glaciers on the equator. http://www.med-owl.com/clusterheadaches/tiki-index.php?page=Latitude |
