Title: Forgetfulness, Meds Post by kimh on Mar 20th, 2005, 11:02pm I'm taking verapimil 120 sr 3x a day. Keep forgetting if took pill or not. Usually, if i'm not sure, i skip it. Tonight i took what i HOPE is my 3rd pill and not 4th? Been in cycle for a while now and anxiety is now an issue. I am concerned about my BP going too low. My BP is usually on the low side to begin with. I've lost a bunch of weight during this cycle. Can't seem to think straight anymore :'( |

Title: Re: Forgetfulness, Meds Post by eyes_afire on Mar 20th, 2005, 11:39pm Kim, I'm sorry you're having a rough time. I used to forget how many verapamils I took also. Maybe get a pillbox... divided in sections for each day of the week... that's what I did :-/. Hang in there :-* Best wishes, --- Steve |

Title: Re: Forgetfulness, Meds Post by jokrs2 on Mar 21st, 2005, 12:51am Yes, a weekly or even a monthly pill organizer is what I've used in the past. Now if I could just remember where I put it. ::) |

[smiley=hug.gif] I am sure I'd forget my pill account, too, if I would not put the day's amount ready on the same place each evening. That's how I don't skip pills my mistake. :) I wish you the best, Sandie |

Title: Re: Forgetfulness, Meds Post by Chillrmn1 on Mar 23rd, 2005, 5:55am Forgetfulness with meds - Before finding the best meds for me personally (alternative dosing & O2 only), I used to have to hit the Imitrex shots heavy. After awhile, the Imitrex would make me so forgetful that by the time I'd walk from the kitchen to the bedroom, I would forget what I went to the bedroom for, which was very frustrating for me. Never experienced the forgetfulness from Verapamil though. Don't have that problem anymore since I changed treatment strategy. |

Title: Re: Forgetfulness, Meds Post by Major_Headcase on Mar 23rd, 2005, 12:47pm Over the past year or so the number of meds I take has increased twofold and that gave me the same problem ... worse, some of the pills looked almost identical in size/shape. A weekly pill box has been a godsend, I highly recommend one that suits your needs - check around, pill boxes come in a wide variety. I refill my box every Saturday night and it's gotten to a be an easy routine. |

Title: Re: Forgetfulness, Meds Post by Gator on Mar 24th, 2005, 12:17pm Hey Kim, you're not alone. Memory problems seem to be a common problem with a lot us us. I know I have had problems getting the chuck of my drill press to open fully. A little WD-40 and it worked just fine. Editted to add: DOH! [smiley=ohjez.gif] See what I mean. |

Title: Re: Forgetfulness, Meds Post by sundancer on Mar 24th, 2005, 12:46pm Memory problems here too, let the cat out last night, forgot to let her in, can't find her this morning. Forget what pills I have taken. Pick up to dial the phone, forget who I'm calling. The good dr. says when you've fought a great battle with pain it affects the memory. CH sufferers fight many, many battles, therefore the memory, it must just go. What was I just saying??? |

Title: Re: Forgetfulness, Meds Post by yikes-another-one on Mar 24th, 2005, 10:05pm If I don't write it down, I can't really verify anything anymore. I am only 32 but feel 80+ because I forget whole conversations... Once I promised a favor.... and got into an argument with my sister... because she was silently expecting me to remember... when she finaly asked me about paying the favor... I was truely shocked that she had waited so long.... Now i have pen and paper EVERYWHERE. If someone tells me anythign remotely important... I have to jot it down....or it disappears. Pill boxes RULE....now If I can just find the paper where I wrote down where i put the box.... ;) |
