Title: Sleep patterns and napping Post by chris_a_tn on Mar 19th, 2005, 11:51pm Does napping during the day (especially the day after a long, long night of pain) tend to help or worsen things for the next night? Just curious as to what others have experienced and how their sleep patters have affected things. |

Title: Re: Sleep patterns and napping Post by E-Double on Mar 19th, 2005, 11:57pm When peeking....a nap will definitely welcome an attack! NEVER nap and stayed awake as long as I could until I started taking melatonin.....helped wipe out the night visitor. Still try not to nap though it doesn't guarantee a hit anymore. All different my man! |

Title: Re: Sleep patterns and napping Post by purpleydog on Mar 20th, 2005, 7:42pm I sleep for 3 1/2 to 4 hours a night. If I sleep longer, I'll wake up with a hit. If I take the rare nap, I don't sleep longer than 1 hour, less if I can, or sure as shit, I'll get hit after I wake up. Naps don't interfere with my nightly sleep cycle, but I hardly ever take one. They don't cause me to get hit more at night, and I still get the old 5:00 am one most mornings. |

Title: Re: Sleep patterns and napping Post by Renee on Mar 28th, 2005, 4:38am When I nap the nap must be for 2 or more hours uninterrupted. If I get woke early then I get hit bad. As for nights....I wake between 0230 and 0300 each and every night whether getting hit or not. If I fall back asleep then I'll get hit for sure. If I get up and drink some coffee and watch some tv, visit the boards, etc. and then catch a nap later my odds of getting hit are far less. Anytime in the night if I get woke I have to get up instead of falling back to sleep or I will wake to a hit. :-/ Now DD, you know why I am awake so early each morning.... ;;D |

Title: Re: Sleep patterns and napping Post by De_Minimis on Apr 2nd, 2005, 1:08am This week, 1 1/2 hours of sleep and I get one. If lucky, 1/2 hour attach. Back to bed, cycle repeats like clockwork. Four per night this week. Tried a nap today and made it short (3/4 -1 hour) enough to hopefully avoid REM (trying to find my happy place). Well, got to enjoy a two-hour CH for that effort (although only a roof-raiser for about 1/2 hour). Naps are now off my diet. |

Title: Re: Sleep patterns and napping Post by jokrs2 on Apr 2nd, 2005, 2:04am I just say NO to naps. Not good for this guy, causes big hits just before my wife gets home from work and I am supposed to be able to get dinner ready with a high kip? :P 3-4 hours of sleep sittin up in a recliner at night is it for me. PFD&N's, Joe |

Title: ViRe: Sleep patterns and napping Post by violet on Apr 7th, 2005, 2:24pm wow, this really amazes me...I get Ch's about 5 hours into my 8 hour sleep cycle. If I get up, then try to go back to sleep, I'm in HUGE TROUBLE. No napping during the day, either, that's just lethal. How or why does this happen? Does anyone know? Vi |

Title: Re: Sleep patterns and napping Post by mcf69 on Apr 19th, 2005, 11:38am When I'm in cycle two things will always bring on an attack, sleep and alcohol, so no naps for me. Besides, the naps never seem to help with the next night except make me take longer to fall asleep, so I get hit later at night, making me more tired the next day, kind of a vicious cycle. |
