TMJ and CH's. Does anyone suffer from TMJ also? If so did getting the mouth guard help at all with the CH's? It seems to me they booth work the the same nerve.

Any info would help.

My SO has both. But I just have CH.

Got CH. [smiley=thumb.gif]
Got mouth guard. [smiley=thumb.gif]
Does the mouth guard prevent a CH? IMHO, no. It just protects your teeth.

I have both.

Before I Knew I had CH they though that the TMJ was causing my HAs I not only wore the mouth gaurd but had a surgury on my jaw. The surgury corrected the pain in the jaw and I do not have the mouth gaurd any more but It had nothing to do with my HAs. Except at the time to piss of the ortho that was working on me! Pissed him off so bad he Fired me and would not work on me any more!!!! Told me it was my fault my HAs would not go away. ::)

I was told years back I had TMJ and that it was causing my HA's and I spent 2 years in braces. Never did a damn thing for the HA's. In fact after all that expence, and the continueing HA's I have three badly chipped teeth on the left side from trying to yank the suckers out my self.

Hay Redd when I fianlly got told I had CH I still had my braces on. The first HA I got after that I was in the bathroom with pliers and wirecuters and I removed the damn things myself ;;D. It all went fine it I went to the denist to have the cement removed from my teeth. You should have seen the look on his face when I told him I removed them my self ::)

Gena,

Well the braces I had removed by the orthodontist. The yanking attempts was of the left molars with a needlenose pliars and yards of dental floss. :-[

I have both. I think they have triggered each other in my case, but I don't think there's a correlation, per se.
