Title: Zonegran - It's working! Post by RollTide87 on Feb 20th, 2005, 11:23pm FYI....a little optimism here. After 13 weeks of pred, imitrex and pain killers, the doc has tried something new and it is working (a little early to tell). I started verapil about 2 weeks ago. That has cut the clusters down to onece a day. Oxygen and imitrex helped to abort. I was havng 3-4 a day. Anyway, the neuro put me on verapamil....and now this week we started zonegran ---1 a day for 3 days, then 2 a day for 3 days and finally 4 a day for 3 days. Point is, it seems to be working. I'll take what I can get. The cycle usually lasts 16 weeks and I am somewhere around 13. I haven't had an attack in three days now. I'll keep you posted, but Zonegran is def. worth the effort. I'll try to get back on there this week. Roll tide roll. Scott |

Title: Re: Zonegran - It's working! Post by Renee on Feb 21st, 2005, 7:09am Scott, I have good results with Zonegran as well. The only side effects I suffer is drowsiness in the first couple of weeks but that soon disappears. I also get some constipation and taking some magnesium counteracts that very nicely. I also drink plenty of water as Zonegran can cause kidney stones, like many other drugs. Congrats on finding something to give relief... ;) Renee |
