Title: Strange HA for me, what is it? Post by lionsound on Feb 14th, 2005, 9:12am Hi everyone, Last night I had a nightmare that I got a searing pain in my head and had wrapped my hands and arms around my head .... and woke up having all that be true. :-[ Very CH like, but the location was different. It was on the left side of my head in the back upper part(not the very top). It was 2:13 in the morning. The time I’ve been waking with out pain for the past few weeks. I was kind of hoping that maybe when I got out of bed this morning it may have been my imagination, but my sore head and tender scalp tell me otherwise. I get migraines and CH and this wasn’t a migraine…the pain didn’t run deep through entire side of my head…..it was closer to the surface and was short lived. And it wasn’t around my eye either like CH, but maybe it came from my ear or neck up into my head and I just could decipher that in my startled state. Maybe it’s nothing and I’m just over tired. I will journal it and everything…usually I’m supposed to put CH or migraine depending on which it is….I may need a new WTF category. It makes me kind of nervous because I really don’t need a new kind of HA… (I have 3 already) and I had some heart valve tripping earlier yesterday too, normal for me but the combo is worrisome. Does anyone know what it might have been? -lionsound |

Post by Bec on Feb 14th, 2005, 10:59am I don't have a answer for you, but when ever you have something that hits out of the normal for you. you should have it checked out just to be on the safe side. Call and tell them about the pain and see what they have to say, better safe then sorry. hugs and PF wishes |

Title: Re: Strange HA for me, what is it? Post by lionsound on Feb 14th, 2005, 4:24pm okay...for educational purposes.... My HA doc's office called me back and said if it happens again to have my primary doc order an MRI. I asked if they knew what kind of HA it was, they said no, but they are calling it a variant....(tell me something I don't know) I've said this a lot today...it's exhausting being so special.:) I'm still curious...Has this kind of HA has happened to any one else? |

Title: Re: Strange HA for me, what is it? Post by Tiannia on Feb 15th, 2005, 1:49pm Make sure you talk to your primary about it anyway even if it does not "happen again". They might want an MRI just to make sure. Because we (CH'ers / HA survivors) react so differently to pain, there might be something that they can see now rather then a wait and see. Kind of like the police telling you that they can to anything to the man who said he was going to shoot you until he actually does. :-/ Please keep us posted. -Tia |

Title: Re: Strange HA for me, what is it? Post by lionsound on Feb 17th, 2005, 5:08pm Tia, thank you so much. I did speak to my primary doctor today and we are going to schedule an MRI. It may take a few weeks, but I haven't had one in a a few years so perhaps its time anyway. Thanks again for the good advice! -lionsound |
