I have been CH free since last sunday, thats 5 days.
After being in full blown cycle for the last 6 months its like being reborn again.
My new doc has me on 2 weeks of predisone. along with a daily verapamil. He gave me imetrex injections for emergancies,but I only needed it on my first couple days of getting the new meds used to my system,
I will tell you that the prednisone makes me very edgy and irratible, but he gave me lorazepam to help me sleep like a baby. My first real test will be this sunday when I go out for the first time in months to attend a super bowl party. As I am a former cheff, I cant wait to get together with old freinds and have them be able to enjoy my mouth watering treats.(baked beans cooked in a smoker along with orange glazed chipotle venison also smoked for 20 hours.) Emmmm-Good!
I promise myself to go light on the alcahol because its been a long time since I have been able to drink and I dont want to have to leave the party early because of a HA.

Take it easy on the booze just in case and you should know for sure by the end of your pred. taper.

Im not going anywhere. You all have helped me and its my duty to stick with all of you thru your good times and bad. Thats what a tight nit family does. We all feel good together and when one suffers we all suffer.
Ill be always watching.

Hi BIGRED,

Sounds like you have a great day planned for Super Bowl Sunday! You might consider staying off the alcohol completely instead of going light until you're sure you're completely out of cycle. Alcohol is a strong trigger for me, however we're all different.

Just trying to help you avoid having a #$?/!!! cluster break through during the best part of the game.

BTW - Those beans and venison you described got my mouth watering! Enjoy!

Enjoy the game - but I agree with the NO ALCOHOL until you're at least a month PF. Don't want to miss seeing NE win this one. ;)

Thanks for not going "bye bye" just because you're out of cycle. There are a lot of others who need help and support. Glad you noticed that one. So many don't.

Awesome news dude!! Enjoy the game. I agree with the others. I wouldnt drink if I were you. Five days of PF time might seem like your out of the woods but it's too soon to be drinking. Dont get me wrong, if I was in your situation I would be tempted as hell. I like to party and have a good time. If you do bring along your trex so if you do have one, you can get back to partying quick. HAVE FUN YOU EARNED IT!!!!!!

WTG Big Red. sounds like OU Days....So happy you have found something to help 'Keep on keeping on.' Have a grandson that was just invited to the NFL combine....So now we hope and pray for that too! Have some fun for the rest of us .....Ann ::)

Throw a six-pack of non-alchoholic beer .5% in the cooler . . . Busch NA's not too bad at all . . . but I'd be afraid of the real stuff.

Hey Big Red,

That is great news! I also recently got out of a vicious cycle and it feels so great. doesn't it? As far as alcohol goes, you know your own experiences! When I am pf for one week I know the beast is gone and I can imbibe once again. I agree that we need to keep checking and supporting even when we are not in cycle and I plan to do this too. The food sounds great and have a wonderful time!! dagger

Great you found a Doc who knows what he is doing!

What is the verapamil dosage?

The verapamil dose is 240 mg daily for the future.
He diagnosed me as boarderline High blood pressure, and he said that when my attacts come on; the pressures spikes in uncontrollable and stroke dangerous preportions.
Hense the daily dose Ill be taking.

You may want to talk to him about upping the dose if the CH creeps back in at the lower doses of the pred.

I use for 480 a day but the 240 may work for you.

Don I start working down on the prednisone tommarro, and I have my next appointment next friday to see were we are at . If I have any problems by then I will suggest this to my doc.
