I started with a mild cycle. Could abort with 2 asprin and 1 hell of a strong coffee.

Now im getting crushed with 8-9 K.
I take 2.5mg of zomig at onset
and in 20min. it subsides.

WHAT IS YOUR AVERAGE TIME OF ICE PIC ONSLAUGHT

Hi, at the beginning of the cycle attacks may last even less than 20 minutes, maybe 10 min. or less, as time goes by the cycle produces more frecuent and also more severe attacks which also last longer, something like 35-40 minutes or so. As you've said in your note, it takes a triptan (via oral) more than 1/2 an hour, to alleviate the pain. So, we take our medicine, but by the time it begins to work, pain is already gone. Anyway, what you'll get is some extra time with no attacks, 6 hours or so, because of the triptans in your blood.

First careful. Ice pick is anopther type of headache.

My clusters go from 0 to 10 in five to ten minutes.

They last 1/2 to 2 hours unmedicated.

They go from 10 to 0 in three to five minutes.

20-40 minutes as a rule. Not too many have been either shorter or longer than that.

Mine last 60 minutes like clockwork. Had one last 90 minutes & the next day i bought a gun....day after that the wife found this site & it's been doable ever since

Beginning of cycle 10-45 minutes. Mid cycle 10 minutes-4 hours. Then they mellow back. Out of cycle- 10-20 minutes- a few times a month. I finially broke down and tried the "alternative" illegal medicine. I have been doing the "happy dance" for nearly 2 months.

Me anywhere from 30mins-3hrs. Unless I have a migraine with it then it seems to go 3hrs or so, subside for a few then right back up again. Seems the migraine triggers the CH to keep coming back again and again.

With O2 and/or trex: 30 minutes or less.

Without O2 and trex: usually 45 to 90 minutes.

Have had a few that went on for almost 3 hours even after 20 minutes of O2 (15lpm w/NRB mask), 2 3mg injections of trex, 200mg of Demerol and 50mg of phenergan. I ended up on my knees in the front yard inventing new curse words and screaming at God to cure me or kill me. Good thing I live out in the country. I'd still be wearing that nice white dinner jacket that ties in the back.

Chonas, pills take too long to take effect. O2 @15 lpm through a non-rebreathing mask takes about 10 - 20 minutes. Effective about 75% of the time for most clusterheads. Injectible Imitrex takes about 5 - 10 minutes, Zomig Nasal Spray about 5 - 10 minutes.

Thanks Gator. I've tried everything, except psilocybin mushrooms or Lysergic Acid Diethylamide. The point with me is that the more medicine I take the longer the cycle as well as the number of night/day attacks.
That's why I don't take any medicine at all, I know this may sound stupid but that's the way it is. I'm also planning a visit to my neuro to discuss a bit about 20 micrograms of acid.

Typically, a half hour. But occasionally one will get "stuck" at K4-K6 on the way down and may last 6-8 hours.

My longest - before the magic of injectible Imitrex - 2.5 hours. I was convinced I would die soon.

Beginning of cycle, untreated - 20 to 30 minutes every other day or so. One week later, more frequent, and longer - 60-90 minutes. Back in cycle, see the doc, uncover the stash from last time.

At peak of cycle, from 0-10 kip within minutes every night at the same time. Trex injects and only 5 minutes to relief.
