Title: Venting ... Post by Sylvan on Jan 20th, 2005, 11:08pm Grrrr ... I've had my O2 tank for nearly 3 weeks now - and I STILL can't use it!! (Granted - i have been doing pretty well on the verap/lithium - so i haven't had a really bad one in that time either) First -- they send me a little tank set to 4 liters/min with nasal canulas! OK - they say oops -- you should be set higher and need a non-rebreather mask - we'll send it right out. Several days later - still no mask. They promise to send it again. Same deal .. no mask. Fianlly - after 3rd attempt - mask arrives! Open package - and it contains a single use nebulizer mask with absolutely nothing about Oxygen or non-rebreathing and no tubing or any possible way of connecting it to this O2 tank. WTF is a nebulizer mask? Grrr ..... Guess i'm back on the phone tomorrow for round 4. Who do i have to kill to get the right stuff??? |

Title: Re: Venting ... Post by JoeS on Jan 21st, 2005, 12:38am Hi Sylvan, sorry to hear about your troubles. I, too, got the wrong type of mask at first. I was luckily able to go to a local hospital where they just gave me a non-rebreather mask, no charge. My wife called first and chatted them up a bit. Also, fire stations ought to have non-rebreathers too, so you could try the same technique with them. Masks are so cheap that they shouldn't mind giving them away. The mask most likely will come with the right tubing to connect to the tank. Good luck and hang in there. Joe |

Title: Re: Venting ... Post by Rock_Lobster on Jan 21st, 2005, 7:36am If you have a regulator that can supply a decent LPM, just cut the mask or nasal thingy off and suck through the tube. Works the same... just slightly more of a hassle. |

Title: Re: Venting ... Post by Sylvan on Jan 21st, 2005, 11:24pm Well, at least they apologized profusely and promised to get the replacement out immediately. I should have it Monday or Tuesday. Now ... what do i do with the nebulizer mask? They said not to bother returning it. |
