Hey Gang,

I have been e-mailing with the Harvard Doc and he brought up the "Silent Clusters" Until he brought them up to me I thought that I was having allergies. My Dr. even put throught all those allergy tests you know the ones where they take about 7 pints of your blood. Anyway, Guess what they all came back negative. So my question is this how many of you get these silent clusters. i.e. stuffiness, watery eye, etc. etc. with NO PAIN?

I get a sudden watery eye now and then, but not the usual droop I get with a hit. No nose issues beyond my normal "I'm a smoker with allergies" snot.

Yes, my husband gets the silent attacks - usually not even realizing it, but I see it. The "Cluster Eye".

After his cycle ended in the year 2001 (his longest ever), even though the pain went away the silent attacks continued and haven't stopped since then. Always at the same times, every day, lasting about 45 minutes. You could set your watch by it.

He had another cycle in 2003 and after IT ended, the silent attacks continued. He's back in cycle again now (started 12/22/2004) so it will be interesting to see if the silent thing hangs on after this one leaves.

So, I guess that makes him a "silent chronic" since he's been going through this for almost 4 years now.

They are also called phantom clusters.
