Title: So I changed my onscreen name.... Post by ..Danielle.. on Dec 27th, 2005, 3:52pm From High Commander......to Danielle I had signed up years ago under my "assumed" name since it was the first time I had ever joined an online anything ... and everyone knows that "only-evil-people-bent-on-getting-your-personal-information-for-the-sole-intent-of-stalking-and-killing-you", inhabit the internet [smiley=ohjez.gif](a quote worthy of my mom) Since I have never, to my knowledge, been stalked, and thus far am still alive, I have taken the bold step of using my grown up name online. [smiley=JAW_DROP.gif] I had to put the little dots ... by it since someone else had the audacity to have my name and the balls to sign in with it before I did. [smiley=tongue2.gif] I think it looks cool since it give the impression that i'm either ...coming or going.... Since i'm never really sure which one I am, it's kind of appropriate. LMAO [smiley=laugh.gif] I'd bet no one would ever think to look at your website to find your full name, phone #, P.O. Box, and what city you live in. I know I'd never think of that. P.S. nice photos. ;;D |

Title: Re: So I changed my onscreen name.... Post by BarbaraD on Dec 27th, 2005, 8:51pm Geezzz Bob, and all this time, my name, address and phone number have been in plain site and I've not be stalked, raped or killed yet.... Haven't even had any obscene phone calls -- am I doing something worng [smiley=huh.gif ...Danielle - seriously, we used to all use our "real" names and I don't know of anyone ever getting stalked. Back in 99 a few of us even got brave enough to decide to meet in "person" - now that was really something. My son was sure he'd never see his favorite mom again. But that was the start of clusterheads meeting and greeting and it was the best thing we ever did in my opinion. The way I figured it was - hell, I'm a chronic clusterhead - what worse can happen to me? Turned out to be a great experience and one that I've never regreted (except the part at O'Hare airport, but that's another story altogether - and I can probably go back there in a couple more years). Glad to know your real identity..... Hugs BD |

As if anyone gave a coot (sorry, hoot) anyway. Life is the one game that everyone completes, might as well do it right! Phil |

LMAO...right back at ya ! I had a very cautious mother who raised us to be overly paranoid. (sometimes too much so) But I figure, I'm 37, married to a big redneck and have two boys who are brown belts, and am five foot ten and a "big girl" ...I think i'll be fine. Besides, i've had the pleasure of meeting other clusterheads and am still alive to report about these wonderfully friendly and generous people. Hoping to meet some more when I get to Florida in Feb. (mom is still horrified at the thought) Maybe when she fully comprehends the understanding you find only with other clusterheads maybe she'll cool down. Danielle |

Title: Re: So I changed my onscreen name.... Post by Grandma_Sweet_Boy on Dec 28th, 2005, 5:06pm Well Danielle, I for one am very happy that you didn't listen to your Mama's advise and took the chance to come to Canmore. Where else could I have watched anyone use pliers to turn wieners on the grill! ;), learn a little about life in the West, and meet a fabulous person and her family - OR learn the famous SWAG method which saying, by the way, I have borrowed from Jim! I do give him credit for it though! Hugs Carol |
