Today's the DAY Homer arrives from Florida.....

Caleb and I are excited. We meet Homer at the airport at 5:15. He's 8 weeks old and we have shoes for him to chew up and a party planned for his homecoming... (Hamburger cake and all)

Jolene says the adoption agency is sending a DVD on how to train a puppy (I always thought they trained the humans, but what do I know..... it's been a few years since I had a puppy - Rudy is 11 and I got him when he was already 3).

So wish us luck with our new "baby"..

Have lots of fun Barbara. Saw the photos of him the other day. He looks gorgeous......

We had new kittens in July and now they are very naughty teenagers. They have totally ruined the curtains and my christmas tree is already looking really pathetic but they are such fun and so loveable its really hard to be cross with them.

Shall be thinking of you all and the NEWSPAPER later ;;D ;;D

Ohhhhhhh good luck, you're gonna need it! ;;D But the love and comfort outweigh any frustrations of a puppy...definately. ;)

Jolene just called and Homer is ON HIS WAY.... She got him to the airport and checked in and he's ready to fly...

Ive seen a dragon fly, a house fly, even a horse fly but I aint never seen no puppy fly. ;;D [smiley=laugh.gif]

New puppies can be little monsters, but they are the cutest and coolest little monsters to crawl on all fours.

HOMER HAS ARRIVED...

Just a few small hitches. He missed his connecting flight in Atlanta, got delayed in Atlanta because of bad weather (and all this time I'm sitting in Shreveport with an impatient 4 year old and his mom and dad waiting on Homer!).

Well, he finally arrived and the whole airport in Shreveport was so HAPPY!!! The nice man (John - we were on first name basis by now) called the plane to see if Homer was on it and when they said "yes" - the raised his eyes to Heaven! He said, "Please get him down here NOW!!!!" and this other nice man brought him down to us and John gave us some scissors to cut the ties on the cage and Homer was in our arms.

He loved on Caleb all the way home (of course the doggie treats may have had something to do with that, but.....).

So far he's examined the whole house, baptised the living room floor, pooped outside (what a good doggie), dug up Rudy's stash of bones in the yard, and eated half a box of doggie treats (thank you Caleb).

Granny has had a LONG day and we're ALL going to bed now. Hopefully Homer is tired out from his long trip and is ready to catch some zzzzz.

C U guys in the morning, right after I show Homer (again) where the doggie door is.....

Me thinks Homer has found a great home. Now it's time to get some basic traning completed and Homer will have his new folks in line in no time. ;)

Dogs rock. I have my first dog now... Lola.. my daughters 2 year old puppy.
What a friend. I will never have another day of my life without a dog in the family.

Congrats on your new pup. Note that we hate you for not posting pics.
