Title: Let it Snow, Let it Snow, NO-Make it Stop Post by burnt-toast on Dec 13th, 2005, 5:07am It was nice to see the first dusting of snow a few weeks ago. It was great when it snowed a few inches just prior to the hunting season. (Unfortunately it melted before the season opened). The few inches of snow during the first week of the season was a little crunchy but great for determining deer movement. I had to plow my way too long driveway (funny I never realize how long this driveway is until winter). The 4 of so inches of snow that fell duing the second week of the season was quiet powder which quieted movement in the woods - but again the driveway thing popped up. The 5 inches of snow that fell yesterday, last night and this morning arrived after deer season but really created a beautiful white blanket on the ground and in the trees. Great to look at - but man the driveway thing keeps screwing things up. And the temps. haven't gone above freezing for weeks so this snow isn't going anywhere. They are predicting a major snow storm for the area Wednesday night which is great because I like having snow for Christmas. I won't like getting the tractor/plow out again but I'll deal with this through Christmas. However after Christmas I'm refusing to accept any more of this. If I ask for NO-MORE-SNOW after Christmas do ya' think Santa will deliver? Tom |

Title: Re: Let it Snow, Let it Snow, NO-Make it Stop Post by E-Double on Dec 13th, 2005, 8:54am We keep getting teased here on Long Island. Last week the major storm brought half an inch and rain. All of the schools were closed. Waste of a snow day. Bring it!!!!! I have a huge snow blower I am dying to try out. |

There is only me, myself and I to do the snow removal. The good news is there will be enough snow down to use my snowshoes. [smiley=huh.gif] |

We have about 24 inches of the stuff and it was 3 degrees (minus 16) this morning. But then we Upstate aren't "teased." LOL http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/snowball.gif Charlie |
