Well, it is going to be an interesting 6 weeks.

Yesterday at school, my Jessica fell while rollerskating and broke her leg. A spiral fracture of the tibia.

She is in a cast from her foot to a little above mid-thigh.

I knew it was broken as soon as I got to the school yesterday...mom's know real pain when they see it. I took her to the emergency room where they confirmed my fear and they cast it last night. I'm at my mom's now as I live in an upstair apartment and just simply could not carry her up the stairs last night...I live on the second floor.

So, if you would. Post her some Get Well Wishes and I will print them off to help her feel a little better.

Hi Jessica - I'm sorry to hear about your skating accident.

I hope you feel better really quickly. In the meantime though, maybe some treats would help.

Only a few more sleeps until Santa comes. I hope he brings you lots and lots of new toys.

Jessica,
Sorry to hear you broke your leg :( My youngest Ayden, (he's 5) broke his arm 3 days before starting kindergarten this year. At first, he hated having the cast on, then he realized everyone thought he was sooooo cool cause he had a cast, and you can get lots of people to do lots of things for you, so remember, when you are feeling a little down because you can't run and play, you can get lots and lots of extra lovin for being in a cast. (And Ayden says it's good for hitting your brother with.....) ;)

Feel better soon and tell your mom to take a picture of you in your cast and show us how you look, maybe we can all sign it through the internet!

Dear Jessica,

I am sorry to hear about your unfortunate circumstances. There's nothing more frustrating than a "Broke" leg.

My advise is to have everyone you know give your "Broke" leg CASH so surely it won't be "Broke" for long.

Best wishes for a speedy return to the things that you love to do. In the meantime don't forget that CAST is really spelled SPECIAL TREATMENT.

Thank you all so much for your well wishes!!

Jessica is staying with her grandmother for the next two weeks through the holiday's so that I can get things settled at the house enough for her to come home.

I'm trying to find a wheelchair for her so that we can get her to and from home to my office where she will be "home bound" schooled two days a week until she can go back to school.

The school has denied any liability for the accident and I cannot find a lawyer to take the case on a contingency basis.

Of course, I am not going to give up and hopefully will be able to get them to pay her medical bills, etc. After all, she fell during P.E. on their property and time...I didn't drop her off with a broken leg...they need to pay for it! Any advice from anyone who has dealt with this previously would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again for the wishes! I printed this off for her and she LOVED all the pictures...although, I think Jonny might be in trouble when she gets a hold of him :P . I told her he was kidding and NOT to take wheelchair lessons from him!
