Title: What makes you a dork? Post by JenniferD on Dec 9th, 2005, 9:30am me? I say really stupid things sometimes! Like: "Grapes don't have hands, that's why they wear gloves". (referring to the Grape Guys) I cry at every episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" I had a pair of panties fall out of my pant leg while I was walking down the street. And there are many many more signs of dorkdom in my life. I am such a dork. What makes YOU a dork? if you have a really funny story but don't want to post, email it to me at darryljen@earthlink.net. I'd love to hear it. |

Title: Re: What makes you a dork? Post by pattik on Dec 9th, 2005, 9:37am One of the dorkier things I have done was trying out one of those big, round hair brushes used for blow-dry styling. Except, it was the wrong size, and I got it so tangled in my hair, I had to make an emergency trip to a salon to have it extracted( a 30 minute procedure). There was no covering it up on the way either, cause it was sticking straight up off the top of my head. I got a few looks. ::) ;;D |

Post by sundancer on Dec 9th, 2005, 12:09pm Wore two different black pumps to an out of town conference one with a two inch heel and one with a three inch heel, one shoe closed toe, one open toe.....during a home improvement project, I got to work one day and noticed a piece of torn off wallpaper under my hose stuck to the calf of my leg....big piece...had on a beautiful brown leather skirt.....really completed the look! |

Title: Re: What makes you a dork? Post by echo on Dec 9th, 2005, 1:24pm I believe that dorkdom comes on many levels. Lacking nasal hair makes this time of the year interesting. The early warning signal for fluid drippage is one of the Alopecia side effects. Nothing like a big drop hitting the conference room table to break the ice. Biggest dorkish issue with me may be the propensity to read what jonny has to say. |

Post by cootie on Dec 9th, 2005, 2:01pm Bakeing a dinner I went to ALOT of trouble to make and realizeing a few hours later I didn't turn the oven on.......we were starved too. Course preheating the oven to get it nice and hot to stick in a nice dinner forgetting you stashed a pile or plastic bowls in there to get them out of the way isn't much smarter. Dinnerless stink bombed family Pam |

Title: Re: What makes you a dork? Post by maffumatt on Dec 9th, 2005, 5:22pm working in the woods a few years ago I fell into an old well, just who covers a well with a piece of old plywood anyway, the top was washed out wet red clay, Too slippery to climb out, 45 min later the whole crew watched as I was pulled out. The guy that laughed hardest had a roadkill coon stuck under his hood, took a couple days to get good and ripe but was worth the wait............ |

Title: Re: What makes you a dork? Post by JenniferD on Dec 9th, 2005, 5:52pm Dorkiness makes us human and this is my motto for 2006: EMBRACE YOUR INNER DORK! I'm starting a website devoted to the inner beauty of inner dorkiness :) You guys are hilarious! I loved the hairbrush story. And the drippage on the table LOL Gotta love the imperfections - and trying to look or act perfect and failing miserably just proves the dorks outnumber the rest :D added: seeing as I can't figure out how to post a pic on here, if you want to see the dork that started this thread, go to myspace.com and look up the display name: CHit Happens (thanks again Vig!) |

Title: Re: What makes you a dork? Post by LeLimey on Dec 10th, 2005, 5:32am Answering the mixer instead of the phone when baking chocolate cakes Burning my head on the shelf in the oven when looking in to see how something was doing. Ironing my neck when lazily just trying to iron the collar of a shirt when I was already wearing it.. (aged 15 so might not count!) Leaving a bag of giblets inside a chicken when cooking it (how that honks!) Answering the TV remote instead of the phone Spending half an hour at 5:30 am de-icing and scraping snow off my brothers car instead of mine. "Fixing up" the wrong car at a wedding The list is long and ignoble and I have disgraced myself enough! LOL mind you.... I think after last night SHAZ has something to add to this thread don't you hon?! ;) |

Title: Re: What makes you a dork? Post by burnt-toast on Dec 10th, 2005, 6:57am Searching for the hat I was wearing Showing up for work a 6:30Pm (winter, before clocks/watches were more informative) instead of 6:30Am because I fell asleep after work and woke up thinking I had slept all night. Not remembering what level of a parking garage I was parked on and having to walk several levels to find my car. Tom |

Title: Re: What makes you a dork? Post by catlind on Dec 10th, 2005, 9:06am Cassette? Let's talk 8 track. Jonny, you forget to tell them that when the wheel chair flipped over in Syracuse there were F-15's flying over head that you were trying to look at ;) "I Do" ?? What about, "Let's have a baby...." THREE TIMES. Echo....your lack of hair should make you happy...it beats the 12" eyelash/worm/fishing line/ski rope you pulled out of your eyeball Dorkiness? Finding out that the scholastic warehouse is having a 50% off sale for their end of year clear out, and has a bargain alley where every book and item in it is $1 no matter the cover price...and coming out of that aisle with no less than 78 books the first day and 65 the second day.... Knowing that the people in this thread who posted about dorkdom had dorkier things they weren't posting... Leaving your Christmas lights up all year round...oh wait, that makes me a redneck I could go on, but I think I made my point LOL Cat |

Title: Re: What makes you a dork? Post by JenniferD on Dec 10th, 2005, 5:23pm oh you guys! this has brought me such a great laugh!!! I usually try to blame my dorkiness on the fact that I am Polish....usually works too. My hubby calls me his Polish Princess when I do something really dorky :) I think my sausage in the freezer incident well qualifies for this category, but at least I got a good laugh at myself with that one. This is GREAT! |

I work with computers for a living so I think that dorkdom comes by default. I work with computers and generally have no idea what I'm doing most of the time. By the logic of the above statement, I must be super cool, huh? (I know it's not incompetence, just ask me) Looking for my keys when they're in my hand. I almost NEVER remember where I parked my car in a lot. (I have to ask one of the kids) Being a Yankee fan (that one was for Jonny) |
