Title: Re: By far the coolest woman on earth!! Post by E-Double on Dec 9th, 2005, 6:42am Reminded me of my own. She's 86 blind from macular degeneration. Lives alone in the same huge apartment in Queens,NY and is completely independent. She takes buses and trains all throughout the city and goes on vacations across the country an dEurope. She went to Octoberfest in Pa and got pretty lit up. When I was in college she would knock one back with me as well. I love that lady with all my soul! hmmmmm time to drink but too bad too early to call her |

Title: Re: By far the coolest woman on earth!! Post by burnt-toast on Dec 9th, 2005, 8:29am I think it's great, no-one is too old to live life. But did you see some of the replies to the topic - seems some folks think granny isn't so cool and that seniors shouldn't step out when they reach advanced ages. We hunt a small mountain in Venango County, PA - it's tough terrain. There's was a woman there, well into her 80's, who we ran into frequently in some of the most remote areas. She hunted deer and squirrel on that mountain nearly every day of the season. She always had advise on where to go. She shot, field dressed, dragged and processed her own deer. She had more get-up-and-go and hunting skill than most of the men in our camp. Anyone who believes seniors must stop living need to re-evaluate their views on aging. GO GRANNY GO! Tom |

Title: Re: By far the coolest woman on earth!! Post by cootie on Dec 9th, 2005, 1:04pm Myself I LOVE hearin stories like this.....cuz I plan to stay cool.......my grama was in her upper 80's and one cool little chick......she had a cb setup at home in Indiana and would talk to truckers and invite them over for breakfast or lunch and she had a GREAT sense of humor and even told dirty jokes ! Chain smokeing all her life did her in 'early' tho....I remember her havein one cig in one hand puffin on it lightin the other with the first. She kinda did double fisted smokeing. She'd come visit and my mom would worry all evening when they went to bed she'd fall asleep and start a fire cuz she smoked in bed too till she nodded off. Inspired Pam All my gramas were SHORT and fiesty......... |
