Title: Almost 14 weeks ...grrrrr Post by JenniferD on Dec 4th, 2005, 7:57pm ok y'all, I am ready for this shit to be over. I want off the meds, they're making me sick- first the nonsense with the topey and am starting to finally think clearly again. Now the Vrap and I feel like crap. The room spins and I nearly fall over if I stand up or get up too quickly, just generally feel like crap. I just want to stop taking the meds and feel normal again and I don't know if this damn cycle will ever end! Sittin here can feel the shadows poking my temple and cheek and I just want it to end dammit. I just needed to vent a little. I'm not gonna take any more meds, I can't stand it anymore. The only pills I should be taking should be VITAMINS, not this stuff. grumblegrumblebitchbitchbitch bitchfest over. |

Title: Re: Almost 14 weeks ...grrrrr Post by kissmyglass on Dec 4th, 2005, 9:23pm I don't think you should go cold turkey off of Verap....better check with your doc. :( |

Title: Re: Almost 14 weeks ...grrrrr Post by gMike on Dec 4th, 2005, 10:38pm Taper off of Verap so you don't spike your blood pressure. Last thing you need is another problem when you're trying to get off of the meds! Mike |

Works for me and the wonderful side-effects of the drugs made my day too. Topamax turned me into a babbling idiot. Rant, beat the walls and scream. Jonny is right. It's not going to last. http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/pound down x.gif Charlie |

Title: Re: Almost 14 weeks ...grrrrr Post by sandie99 on Dec 5th, 2005, 2:33am Jennifer, [smiley=hug.gif] Be careful if you're going to stop taking meds. Do it gradually. Verpamil helped me when the dose was big enough (600mg/day), but we're all different. I hope that you'll find that thing which works for you. :) Wishing you PF time asap, Sanna |

that's how I know I'd never make it if I was chronic. You guys are the ones I feel the worst for cuz this shit episodic sux enough. I'll take half the f'in Vrap (grumble and frown and act like child here). its a low dose anyway. |

Title: Re: Almost 14 weeks ...grrrrr Post by lionsound on Dec 5th, 2005, 7:04am Hi Jennifer, please call your doc and ask how much of the verap to decrease by. Even half may be too much. When I got off of it it was at a very slow rate. and a side note: when I first started taking verap it did make me dizzy. That went away in a few weeks and I was okay. I undertand if you don't want to do that. you have every right to be frustrated. Be well and PF, lionsound |

Title: Re: Almost 14 weeks ...grrrrr Post by Redd715 on Dec 5th, 2005, 7:10am Do be very careful and call your doc about tapering off the verap. Low dose+ tip over/spinning room..reminds me of my situation which was my BP bottoming out. Not a healthy thing. Definately reaf up at www.clusterbusters.com to see if this is something for you. Title: Re: Almost 14 weeks ...grrrrr Post by zwibbs/Scott on Dec 5th, 2005, 8:32am Hang in there--will be ending soon....I know what you mean about verapamil--I made a sudden move on a ladder this past saturday and almost blacked out. Very scary stuff. My head was spinning, and I have learned my lesson. Hope you have comfort real soon. |

Title: Re: Almost 14 weeks ...grrrrr Post by Beastfodder on Dec 5th, 2005, 9:19am Sounds like you're getting through the worst of it. Hope that's sooner not later. I know exactly how you feel about the polypharmacy, got a bottle collection out of the past few years. Carbazemine and pizotifen being two all time favourites. So this year it was straight down to clusterbusters and what a difference it made. 4 headaches opposed to 50 plus and a two and a half month cluster cycle down to a few weeks with no side effects. |
