Title: Whatcha Listening To?  11/30
Post by Lizzie2 on Nov 30th, 2005, 8:21pm
Whatcha Listening to tonight?  I just heard the most perfect song for myself right now..............  :)

Artist/Band: Underwood Carrie
Lyrics for Song: Jesus, Take The Wheel
Lyrics for Album: Some Hearts
She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy with the baby in the backseat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low on faith and gasoline
It been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention
She was going way to fast
Before she knew it she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
She was sooo scared
She threw her hands up in the air

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this all on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel

It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat sleeping like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said I'm sorry for the way
I've been living my life
I know I've got to change
So from now on tonight

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this all my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I'm on

Oh, Jesus take the wheel
Oh, I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
From this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel
Oh, take it, take it from me
Oh, why, oh

You must come to my town.....

The city has speakers all along the main streets playing Christmas stuff. They were playing Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra's Christmas music.

Bizarre. http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/headhurts.gif

Sounds like downtown Princeton, Chaz. They have 4 piece horn bands, playing Christmas Carols on just about every street corner. At the square...right across from the college...they just lit the christmas tree and they have a large projector screen playing christmas faves such as "It's a wonderful life"...People walking around dressed in clothes right out of "A Christmas Carol". You'd think you walked right into a Hallmark card.

It's fun for someone visiting...but when you live with it for 12 hours a day...it gets rather weird.

Jimmy,

Star 104.5 - Christmas music 24/7 since like...Halloween.  LOL  I had to listen to the torturous stuff for about 8 straight hours last night.  However, the night was getting so long that by the time "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch" came on at 5:30am, I was almost (ALMOST) ready to start dancing around the room singing.   ::)

My car last night and this morning was Michael Buble's new live cd combined with his 5 song Christmas album.

Last night before work I also downloaded the soundtrack to "Garden State" which my brother says is the best soundtrack ever.  We'll see. :)

Steve Earle                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Devils Right Hand

About the time that Daddy left to fight the big war
I saw my first pistol in the general store
In the general store, when I was thirteen
Thought it was the finest thing I ever had seen
So l asked if I could have one someday when I grew up
Mama dropped a dozen eggs, she really blew up
She really blew up and I didn't understand
Mama said the pistol is the devil's right hand

The devil's right hand, the devil's right hand
Mama said the pistol is the devil's right hand

My very first pistol was a cap and ball Colt
Shoot as fast as lightnin' but it loads a mite slow
Loads a mite slow and soon I found out
It can get you into trouble but it can't get you out
So then I went and bought myself a Colt 45
Called a peacemaker but I never knew why
Never knew why, I didn't understand
Cause Mama said the pistol is the devil's right hand

Well I get into a card game in a company town
Caught a miner cheating I shot the dog down
Shot the dog down, watched the man fall
Never touched his holster, never had a chance to draw
The trial was in the morning and they drug me out of bed
Asked me how I pleaded, not guilty I said
Not guilty I said, you've got the wrong man
Nothing touched the trigger but the devil's right hand
